Thursday DE: This old thing?

Does your character possess an object that they've had for a long time? Say 5 years or so? If so, what does it mean to them? If not, what is an object they will keep for a long time and what does it mean to them?

No, I didn't word it this way because I have several pups that aren't old enough to have owed an object for 10 years, why do you ask this?

Yamato has his digivice, his Crest pendant, and his harmonica. He'll probably keep all three for the rest of his life.

The meaning of the digivice and Crest are obvious -- they're useful tools, but also basically his badges of being a Chosen -- but the harmonica was a gift from his maternal grandfather, Michel, who by now he hasn't seen for nearly a decade.

Creed has his dogtags. He's had them since whenever they were first introduced. He was a soldier for a long time and they feel familiar.

Kylo has Vader's helmet. It represents his destiny, to him, the road he hasn't gone down long enough yet.

Danny has an iPod classic that is the only left from before his parents died and he was taken into K'un-Lun. It is a bridge to his childhood and I doubt he will ever let it go, perhaps even getting it repaired or upgraded, but never moving on to a different device. He also has a battered copy of the Dao te Ching in Chinese that was an early gift from his master, Lei-Kung.

Ahsoka has her lightsaber, which is a manifestation of both her call to serve and protect and her fighting skill. There is also her ankul headpiece but I don't know how much that means to her since she gives it up in season 07. I'm still deciding as in canon the necklace or headpiece is an import symbol of accomplishment to the Togruta.

Sabine has her helmet, which she reforged herself. I say reforged as I've decided that's how she honored a past member of her family. I haven't decided whose armor it was though. It represents her family, their honor, and her ties to the past.

More later maybe.
