Monday DE: If they be worthy
Afternoon all! Happy Cheap Chocolate Day!
Unsurprisingly, given it's a Bank Holiday... this is a little late. (Sorry!)
Anyway, on to the DE: Could your character wield Thor's hammer Mjolnir? Why or why not? If yes, is there a point in canon where they could not, or vice versa?
(N.B. You do not have to believe yourself worthy in order to hold Mjolnir. Being worthy is enough.)

After 'Nam?
Yeah. Though I don't know if he'd try.
Cecil: Mmmmmmm... I mean. Probably not. I love you Ceec, but sometimes your instincts are less 'noble and just' and more 'OMG THAT IS THE WORST HAIRCUT EVER AND A CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY' and you just... go a wee bit overboard. Tiny bit.
Jon: Yeah. Especially once we start reaching Season 4. Season 1 maybe not so much, but he hasn't had to really worry about that sort of thing yet. Now, whether he should be allowed anywhere near Mjolnir is a different argument, because boy howdy he has a vicious streak that I think scares him (and definitely scares his friends!), and maybe he shouldn't have the giant hammer of doom. He'll probably smash another Very Helpful Device that he didn't research thoroughly. Sometimes there's only one active brain cell in the Magnus Institute, and Jon is not always the one in possession of it. >.

Sabine...(looks at Trials of the Darksaber) I lean towards yes, but she would only carry it until she found someone who was truly worthy.
I'll see if I have any further answers later.

R2-D2: There is probably at least one point where he could, assuming he doesn't need hands for it XD
VaderKin: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Derius: Possibly? Even probably. He's very solid, honest as he can be under the circumstances, strives genuinely for justice etc. Maybe not all his life, but he probably has at least a shot at it a time or two (he's kind of like Steve Rogers in some ways, but slightly less pure so it'd have to be when he's younger and fresher). Also, though, he is pretty humble and doesn't think it'd be possible and also that other people need it more than him.
Tavi: Probably yes, at limited points in his life (even if that is only Third Calderon). Honestly my entire opinion is being muddled by his opinion of himself, which is that he is not at all worthy (Kitai totally is, in his opinion and probably also fact). He is more worthy than he thinks, because he forgets that thinking terrible things is not the same as choosing to do them--and the ways he refuses to bow to those instincts or other inevitabilities says a lot about him. But also, like Derius, he thinks the hammer is for people who don't have his particular toolbox.

Eden, meanwhile, definitely would try, but there's no way he'd ever be able to.

Max - No, and much like Sam he wouldn't want to either. He'd be terrified at the very idea.
McGonagall - Hmm. Possibly. I feel like she definitely wouldn't believe herself worthy of it, but...
Raoul - Hey, he's still mine til Max's app goes through! ;) I think he possibly could, although given what he says about what he's like when drunk (he's a recovering alcoholic), he might be disqualified on those grounds. He'd probably have too much sense to try, though, as well as a healthy level of concern for what would happen if Jonathan found out that as well as being personally able to wield the Dominion Jewel, one of his senior commanders possessed a superweapon of his own. Jon's a good man and he trusts him, but there is such a thing as temptation, as well as just... too much power, frankly.
Victoria - ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha no.
Snow Leopard Woman - wouldn't be interested.
War - see Victoria, but treble it.
Coulson - I don't think so, although I'm not entirely sure how to explain why. I think there's a kind of willingness to lead/rule [justly] inherent in being able to wield Mjolnir that Coulson doesn't have (he's inherently a team player), as well as his somewhat blemished past in terms of the work he's done for SHIELD. That said, it would be hilarious if - when SHIELD first find it and believe it to be immovable - he absent-mindedly picks it up, goes '...huh' and hurriedly puts it back.
Poe - Based on the first movie: probably. Based on the other two: nah, not so much, I suspect.
BB-8 - Could and should, just for the comedy value.
Molly - Errrrrrrrrr. Idly wondering if Molly could lift Mjolnir was actually how I got the idea for today's DE, and I'm still... kinda stuck at 'eeeeeeeeeerrrr'. She definitely would not believe herself worthy of it, no question. I think I skew towards 'probably not'? I think that there's an element of personal courage in being considered 'worthy' -- and Moll, as she'll quite happily tell you herself, doesn't have to be brave, because she knows she can't be hurt. The one time when an element of real courage was involved, Molly feels that she ran away... Whether or not she did (or did the only sensible thing to protect the people she was charged with protective) is a major question for her. I think I'd have to say that generally, no, she couldn't - but in a major crisis, where she made the active decision to stand and fight in a situation where she could be hurt, she'd be able to wield it.

Aradia: She definitely couldn't do it when she was dead. After she came back to life, I think she could wield it if she wanted to, but she tends to avoid leadership roles and being at the forefront of the action, so that'd only happen in a situation of her having to step up because no one else was both worthy and willing.
Cirava: Nope, but they wouldn't want the job.
Bastion: I think they have the strength of character for it as long as they could hold off their combat programming, although they'd be as baffled to discover this as everyone else. But also, it'd be hilariously incongruous to see them wielding Mjolnir, which is what clinches it.
Thurlow: Maybe. They're reasonably brave and good-hearted but also kinda selfish and skulduggerous. (Which is a word now.) And they know it, so they wouldn't expect to be judged worthy. I think it would depend on whether Mjolnir was willing to overlook the petty theft and ends-justify-the-means-ism.

I think with Cassian that he might be able to lift it at certain points in his life but he would never try to lift it.
Quentin, hm, maybe, he's complicated since he protects his own people but I don't think his kind of being a good Fae would work for Mjolnir.
Charles, no, not at all, he'd probably like to and be curious but not.
Sameth, I think he would be able to but he'd more interested in the whys behind Mjolnir.
Will S., he's another tricky one but I'm not sure though kind of lean towards maybe.
William, I don't think so.
Demeter, no, I don't think so, I think few of the Greek gods or heroes would be able to.
Moist, oh god no, never.
Ivan, I think he might be able to by the time he reaches Captain Vorptaril's Alliance, not earlier in canon.
