Tuesday DE: Heel

How would your pup(s) be with dog or puppy training?
takethatnature: A slightly frustrated Wilson looking downwards and gesturing with his right hand, mouth open to exposit about something. (beardy: well the thing is)

Wilson would be useless at it. Before the Constant he didn't specifically dislike dogs, but the longer he spends in a world where packs of feral mutant dogs try to kill him every week the less comfortable he is around normal ones. Doubly so if they're big or loud. He might at least manage to avoid making the dog's behaviour worse, which is more than I can say for some dog owners I've met IRL, but he doesn't have a clue how to make them follow his directions other than bribing them with snacks every time.

Bastion doesn't know a lot about dogs in particular, but they get along well with animals most of the time, so they might luck into an effective technique or do well with directions from someone else who knows what they're doing.

Thurlow likes dogs and has dabbled in animal training in canon, so they could do a decent job! However, they're from the late Victorian era so some of their techniques are a bit out of date.

Cirava would rather go back indoors and vape or work on some tunes, but they might be able to find a decent guide on the internet. On the other hand, an Alternian dog training guide is probably written with the assumption that you're either training a hunting dog or trying to make a dog lusus more useful/less obnoxious to share living space with, so some adaptation of the material will be necessary for an Earth dog.

Wormwood has no idea what they're doing and has a track record of scaring off potential animal friends by coming on way too strong. This could end in disaster.

Tess has a dog, a Saluki named Baroness Juliet Gisela Beatrix of the South Wind. Or Bea for short. Tess didn't train her, she had someone come in and do that for her. But ain't Bea the most well trained dog ever.

Kylo would prefer a Droid, something that can be programmed to behave.

Creed is not a dog person.

Sariel is afraid of dogs. It's not a debilitating fear, but she is definitely wary of them. So... she's probably not the best choice to train a dog, especially one prone to jumping up on people. Already well-mannered friendly dogs are probably a better idea. She'll cat sit and gladly, though.
takethatnature: Wilson with a sort of exaggerated-looking closed-mouthed frown. (PB: frowny face)

Yeah, that's where Wilson's heading. He's liable to end up with a trauma-induced phobia of dogs by the time he's post-canon. (He has a vaguely doglike walking storage chest with fur and four legs, but he doesn't recognise Chester as "a dog". Normally, dogs have distinct heads!)
