Monday DE: I Know
Morning all! (Just.)
I strongly suspect I'm going to regret not hanging onto this idea for Valentine's Day, but it's the only idea I've got... (And I mean that literally. My head currently contains one (1) idea, and one (1) idea only.)
How does your pup say 'I love you'? Does this vary depending on romantic/platonic/familial love, or who they're saying it to?

My completely invented Twi'leki way to say this was "Istre amroseun", which is like - 'istul' [to have-verb] + you for family/friends present conjugation to 'istre,' and 'amro' [love-noun] + 'seun' [first person non-exclusive possessive suffix]. So the literal translation would be 'You have my love.'

Lan Zhan: Lan Zhan doesn't speak things in hi early life. He relied on meaningful stares and action. When tht lead to disaster, one of the first change he made in his life is to be more demonstrative. Not much more, but so much that people wouldn't question his feelings about them. His son knows he's loved, his brother knows he's on thin ice but loved, and jiang cheng can go eat a bowl of dicks. He's definitely a guy who expresses via action -- composing music, making space for his lover's odd habits or even forbidden vices in his life, compromising to make sure both of them are hapy.
Zenigata: This guy is touch-starved, but he's physical in a HUGE way. If he puts his hands on you he probably likes you. He's closed off otherwise professionally, but if he likes you you're at least getting your shoulder grabbed or your back patted. Love? Hugs, kisses, snuggles. Let the man love you. He's also very verbally expressive, and will say his feelings freely once he can deal with them. Basically, he's the exact opposite of the other two. He FAILS at prioritizing time and his family/lovers over work, so he tries to communicate affection in totally different ways.

Klaus, once he finds it, is Very open about his love. Definitely unwisely so given the timeframes it occurs. Klaus... has only uncomplicatedly loved one person, so... small sample size. His siblings he... mmm. Love isn't quite right, Ben gets closest to that, but. He never expects any of them to be in his corner when he needs it, doesn't think they'd miss him if he's gone (surprise, he's right), is not surprised by threats of violence or actual violence. It's not the same.
Jon is more a man of action than anything else, he's not good at words. He's not always great about picking the right action either, but the boy is trying, okay?
Everyone with a radio knows who Cecil Palmer loves until Carlos teaches him some subtlety skills. It takes a while. Vivid, rambling descriptions of Carlos in all sorts of situations have definitely gotten on-air. With his sister it's a bit more complicated, but that's only because he took an instant dislike to Steve [deep breath] CARLSBURG, who can't even take care of a Tan Corolla, never mind his adorable neice.
Ugh. Steve.

If it's someone who he's really affectionate with, physical touch tends to come up a lot. Taichi, Sora, Takeru, Quentin, Barry, and Cisco are all people who he tends to initiate physical affection with a lot and who he appreciates physical affection from in turn.
This is somewhat in contrast to the fact that, with people who he doesn't have that level of affection with, he'll turn hostile fast if they try to initiate physical contact.
