Hello Milliways, welcome to Friday at last! Oof, it's been a busy week, but here we are and it's time for DE with Bat.

Some folks may know that crossovers are my jam, I Love them, whether it's just Mork from Ork hanging out with the Fonz, or a Crisis on Infinite Earth's type deal where everyone in a mask is onboard, I like when characters get to hang out and have adventures and fun together. And so, for today's DE, let's play with the crossover theme.

The steps:

1. Post in with a list of your pups that you want to play with, include their canon.

2. Others will tag with suggestions of characters (their own or any others) to have a crossover with your pup. 

3. You write a synopsis of the crossover that happens (or a fic if you like!). 

Things to consider when setting up your crossover: Where do things happen, your pup's world or the other persons, or somewhere else? How do they meet? Do they do the thing where they fight and then team up later? Are they enemies? Is there shawarma? Does Mork on Happy Days actually count as a crossover since it was more of a precursor to the spin off? 

These can be serious or for the lulz (remember there was that one time Superman hung out with Bugs Bunny and Scooby and the Gang have definitely solved mysterious with everyone from Batman to the Winchester brothers.)

Bonus points, give your crossover an epic title.

There is a Doomsday Device in the middle of New York City and, wouldn't you know it, Reed Richards and the other big brains are off-world. Enter Cisco! Drafted to first try and disarm the thing, those plans go sideways when the device actually turns out to be a transport for a robot spider army (Cisco screams a lot here).

New plan, while Jess's NYC peeps tackle the Arachnobot hordes (name of course coined by Cisco), Cisco, Jess and Carol get to go to space! They hijack a satellite, fight some space spiders, and eventually reprogram the system to send a signal beam down to Earth to disarm and decommission all the Arachnobots.

The day is saved, many selfies are taken, and we end on Jess and Cisco:


Standing before the door, ready to send Cisco on home, Jess offers him a smile.

"Thanks for your help. Happy to return the favor anytime you need it," Jess says.

"No problemo," Cisco replies, trying to be cool and totally failing.

For a moment Jess squints, and then she points.

"There's a spider on your shoulder."

"Ha-ha," Cisco deadpans, glancing down. "Real fun-- AUGH, OH GOD GET IT OFF!"

The end.

So the easy route (and the one that is often used to introduce Matt to other people) is someone needs a lawyer.

INSTEAD, this crossover happens when Matt goes up against Wilson Fisk who has recruited some special help, y'know, the kind with mutant powers.

A kid Charles has been monitoring after his powers manifested has signed up with the Kingpin. Being the young, dumb, rebellious sort, the kid has no interest in joining up with Charles and instead he's more focused on getting in solid with Fisk by killing his number one enemy, Daredevil.

Charles gleans that something bad is about to go down and he shows up to try and talk the kid out of it while Daredevil drops in to break up an operation Fisk has going. It does not go well for anyone involved.

Cut to, the blind ninja and the crippled telepath trying to get out of a bad situation. Their end goals are different, Matt wants to stop the mutant and violence is okay for that, and Charles wants to save him, but they have the mutual aim of Not Dying going for them.

In the end of course they manage to turn the kid around. He goes to mutant school with Charles, Matt goes back to lawyering, and now the Xavier Institute has a New York law firm on retainer, just in case.

Zenigata in either of those canon is gonna be the frothing anti-vigilante cop that slowly begins to learn that either man in question is good. However, it diverges from there:

Going with MCU Flavor Defenders here: Zenigata will respect Matt Murdock. He's a lawyer, he's disabled -- sure he's a Defense attorney that puts bad people back in the street but he's selective about his cases so he can deal with that. They might work together to make sure the right people get off and the right people go to jail.... but he starts to notice that Daredevil gets involved in places and cases that Zenigata takes. Culminates in a rooftop combat that ends with both of them beat to shit, but Matt ultimately unmasked. They become allies after that.

He's also got history with the other Defenders; he frequented Luke Cage's bar, has worked with Jessica Jones -- they dated briefly and it was an absolute clusterfuck, and he's sworn off relationships since. That Iron Fist is some weaboo dude who he hates. Fuckin' white people, man. He only puts up with him because of Cage.

(Man this makes me want to go watch the stuff I still haven't on Netflix...)


HOWEVER, with Batman it's a different story. Here he's an underdog cop who has been beat down but never lost his sense of justice. He doesn't like Batman because he's part of a bigger problem - that the police are corrupt, and he's been complicit with it in the past. He wants reforms, but he sees Batman as a symptom of a cancer in the police force, that some asshole with obvious money can do all this. He puts together that Bruce Wayne is Batman pretty quickly -- who else local could finance that shit? He keeps it to himself, though Bruce figures out pretty quickly that Zenigata knows.

Given Zenigata's working class roots and disdain for the rich, he's got friction with Gordon (who he respects as a straight shooter, but thinks he's way too cozy with Batman) and the loss of Harvey, a passionate white knight of justice, really devastated him. (Harvey also has working class roots, being the son of a cop; he's got a lot of baggage their that Zenigata, as a man from a family line of cops really understands.)

Zenigata and Daredevil and Batman all hunt Lupin. That's it, that's the plot, they come to the Lupinverse and have adventures.)

These fusions are cool.

Hunting Lupin seems like plot enough for many adventures, both exciting and ridiculous given the canon. XD

Like roughly 90% of my fandom-ing for the last few years has been the MCU.

Peter and Hermione would be like weird nerdy geeks at each other, but about like way different topics... until she started talking about potions, which is like wizard chemistry.

i honestly cannot remember if Harry met Indy before (i know Van Helsing did)... but, Harry and Indy would probably get along okay - they're on the same side of the good guy/bad guy fight. And Indy's tech wouldn't go bananas with Harry around b/c it's probably all old enough. XD

Lucifer and Constantine obviously have history, which could be fun to delve into. But Lucifer getting possessive of a case and put upon when it turns out it has some occult element might be fun.

There would also be blues playing and late night drinking.

A youngish Obi Wan ending up in Middle Earth during the Battle of Dagorlad during The Last Alliance. And all help is accepted, even if the Man is clearly something more then just a Man. He and Elrond strike up a tentative friendship, much to the suspicion of both campus.

There actually was a True Blood thing on Sesame Street, True Mud. Eric refuses to acknowledge that. Van Helsing would be met with suspicion and snark. But he would be interested in hearing about various ways of getting rid of vampires. It might come in handy!
