Thursday DE
Hello Milliways. Thank you Don for taking last Friday's DE when I was down with the sickness. This week I'm picking up Thursday :D
For today's DE let's talk parents and parental figures, and ask the question:
Who taught your pup how to Adult?
We're talking the basics of grown-up survival like how to shave or drive a car (or fly a spaceship/sail a boat/ride the subway/etc.), how to cook and do laundry, gave them The Talk, the bare minimum skills someone needs to know to be at least a semi-functional person on their own.
If your pup is not yet an adult who is helping them get there along the way?

Fives was taught it all by his big brothers.
Thanos taught Gamora everything.
Dick's got Bruce, and Alfred.
Simba totally has Mufasa. Totally. Mufasa's going to support him all the way. Yep.
Dinah was raised by committee. Her mom takes most of the credit, but her Dad taught her how to do laundry, Ted Grant taught her how to maintain a motorbike, Ted Knight, Carter Hall, Alan Scott and Jay Garrick all had a hand in other ways.
BONUS:
- Bea and Rapunzel both taught themselves all of it, in very different circumstances.

Zuko had Iroh, thank god.
Lan Zhan had a very different experience being taught by his uncle.
Vex... uh. Vex's been a scrappy orphan who learned to shank you -- or make you shank yourself -- to survive. His ability to adult is done by very questionable means.

For Klaus: Mom did most of the non-superhero adulting lessons, though he probably found out about sex long before she thought to say anything about it. Same for alcohol, and hard drugs. Whoops. He's not really what anyone would call a fully functional adult.
For Cecil: ... That's a secret guarded by the City Council, please go ask them. Carefully.

Kylo was probably taught a little by Han and Leia but mostly by Luke. And a tiny bit of Snoke.
Creed ran away at approx. 14 years old so he had to raise himself, for the most part, and Logan. Kid was a brat.
Wanda would have learned from her parents in the beginning but I have a feeling she and Pietro came up with the rest themselves. She's picked up a few bits from Clint, too.

Barry - While Henry Allen tried to impart as much wisdom as he could within the constraints of a prison visitation room, Barry learned almost everything from Joe West.
Matt - Matt got a few basics from his dad before he was killed and everything else Matt learned from Father Lantom and the nuns at St. Agnes.
Logan - Is Origins still canon? I don't even know, either he learned it presumably from a girl named Rose and a bunch of gold miners in the frozen North, or other people in his mysterious past. And he certainly had to make up/figure out a lot on his own, too.
Bill - Bill learned very nearly everything from his mother. His uncle Charlie provided some guidance whenever he had a chance to while passing through, but mostly it was Bill and his mom.

Sabine: Her mother and father, and now Hera and Kanan.
Jessica Drew: Um...HYDRA? Having her not blend in would be bad for an assassin right?
Viv: Her father would have programmed it in, but she's also learning from the Champions and the internet.
Ben: Ho boy...not applicable? He died as a teen and I can't see ol' Reggie being big on how to adult. If he learned anything post-death, it'd have come from watching Klaus who is an excellent teacher in what not to do.
Wen Qing: Wen Ruohan, or at least the tutors he provided.
Alustin: I want to say his parents but there are hints they may not have been around. Other students at the Skyhold Academy once he started classes there and then his mentor...who is a sphinx and immortal and doesn't think much of the short-lived. It'd kind of amazing he does as well as he does.

Tho - technically - Peter is still learning how to adult. Aunt May helped him figure out tying a tie via YouTube videos. He got a bit of advice from Happy and Tony. Who knows what's up beyond that.
Harry - er, I suppose Justin may have been some help, but he prolly figured a lot out on his own by necessity, since he wasn't adopted until his early teens.

Kanan was raised in the Jedi Temple, and so was brought up by various Jedi Knights and Masters, and by his Jedi Master Depa Billaba. And I would also say learned from and was greatly influenced by the clone troopers he worked with during the wars. A thief named Janus Kasmir taught Kanan how to survive/adult outside the Jedi Order, and so it's certainly implied that Kanan adopted his own alias after him. But from about 14 years old on there was no one in particular teaching him how to adult, and probably a lot of him learning through observation.

Lady Marian → Her father, and then a lot of bigger example of 'what not to be'
Jean Grey → Charles Xavier
Jo Harvelle → Her Dad, a lot of aunt & uncle hunters ( ..... her mom >_> )
Sara Lance →
Are you sure she's an adult?Quentin, Ivo, Nyssa, Ripno subject
Yamato probably learnt a lot of it from his mother when he was younger, some of it from his grandparents, some of it from Jyou, and then a lot of it was just self-taught.

Quentin-partly his parents, mainly Toby and May and some Etienne and the Luidaeg, even a little Sylvester
Charles-he did a lot of himself as his parents were the kind that were rich but not present, he and Raven figured out things together
Sameth-his father more than his mother, his sister, various guards and people at school
Moist-his grandparents until he was 16 and then people he met but he did a lot on his own

Elrond was raised well by his parents and then, after, sort of well by the Sons of Fëanor? Or - they did their best? (In my head canon, Elrond is the noblest of the noble, but perfectly capable of fighting dirty, because if you're dead, nobody will laud you for not having kicked your opponent in the groin - quote Maedhros). Sometimes, he is too adult.
Eric was raised well by his human family and mostly ignored it and then he was raised as a vampire by Godric who was by all means harsh and brutal about it. Because young vampires are all just on the edge of insanity and you have to be pretty strict about it. He is a good vampire?
Lucifer - Luxury is not an adult and he doesn't intend to be.
