Wednesday DE: you are the wind beneath my wiiiiiiiiiiiings

Hello hello Milliways! Bat here in a new time slot! (Thank you Eric for helping me with my insane schedule!) It's Hump-DAYYYY and I am beering you all strength to get past the mid-week hurdles.

When your pup has a hill to climb or an obstacle to face who helps inspire them? Who are the people with the pep-talks and encouragement who give your pup the needed push to keep on keeping on?

Also acceptable, the people who move your pup to success because your pup just wants to spite them.

Barry has a great support network at home and in the bar.

At home Joe and Dr. Wells are top of the list. Iris and his dad, when Barry has problems he can actually talk to them about because, secret identities and the limits of prison visitations. Oliver Queen, and of course Team Flash with Cisco and Caitlin.

In the bar one of the first people Barry turns to is Yamato, but Dinah is also becoming someone Barry feels he can talk to and he's definitely been inspired by Steve Rogers and X-23 a time or two.

'People who move him to success because he just wants to spite them' is basically every interaction Wilson's had with Maxwell since he found the portal to Adventure Mode.

Usually it's Taichi or Sora, the other two angles on the Chosen's leadership triangle, or Gabumon who tend to be the ones providing encouragement. Occasionally it's Takeru or Jyou, although there is a complicating factor there in the Chosen being fairly rigidly hierarchal -- there are things they can do and say in a casual setting as his brother and his friend that they can't in a mission setting where he's their commander/yakuza-style kyodai/strategist.

In the bar, he tends to go to Barry, Cisco, Quentin, Cassian and a few others for encouragement, stymied somewhat by how reticent he can be about accepting encouragement.

As far as spite goes, a whole lot of Yamato's driving motivation is 'If people refuse to respect you, become so good at what you do that they have no choice,' so he's fairly motivated by spite for a lot of people.

Peter's support network is weird. Aunt May is p tops in the basic stuff. And Tony was in both the 'you got this' and 'spite' camps. Ned is great... as an enabler (Ned's either rly waffle-y or kinda inconsistently written - i'm not sure which). MJ, post FFH, is probably the best bet for 'are you sure this is a good idea?' since Tony (in canon) fucked off to the great beyond.

Harry - forgets that he has really great friends until they whack him with a frying pan to remind him.
