both of my m'ways boys are the 'ask forgiveness' types... they'll both skip off to do a thing and go 'oops, my bad' afterward when they get yelled at. giant goobers the both of them.

Wei Wuxian does not ask for permission often. If he feels something is the 'right thing to do' he's going to do it, and damn the torpedoes. He will ask for forgiveness... from some people.

Klaus doesn't ask for permission or forgiveness. He just does shit. He learned as a kid that neither of those things are coming, so why bother?

Cecil asks for permission, because re-education from the Sheriff's Secret Police is a pain in the ass.

Jon asks for permission... now. Because he's trying very hard to do things by some kind of book. Once he's further into canon there's no one to ask for permission from, and no one he wants forgiveness from except Martin.

Chengling will ask for permission, because who can say no to the cutest duckling?

For YT, neither.

For Seimei, permission, if at all possible. Maintaining trust is important. But boy is he going to work on you hard to get that permission.

For Murderbot, you will either be thanking it for the thing it did, or never know what it did in the first place, so it’s kind of a moot point.
