Today's DE: What is your character's least favourite part of their job? This can be the mundane job they do to earn money, or it can be their inverted-commas "job," where they're superheroing, or being a mage, or what-have-you.

Wei Wuxian: The politics of it all. Sects fighting over requests from rich families, completely neglecting requests from poor families, atrocities being completely ignored if the wrong place or family is experiencing them, minor inconveniences becoming Big Horrible Deals because someone with some power wants to make a Thing about it... he's so done with it all.

Klaus: ... For his current job, he supposes the jungle can smell pretty nasty, but... honestly? It's the happiest he's ever been. For his first 'job'? Yeah, how long you got? He's got a whole list of worst things. Sex work wasn't bad though - he had fun, anyway. Mostly. It was a drag when he'd find out the john he was trying to hook up with was an undercover cop, they always got the most horribly homophobic nitwits for that job. Like, how can you be that hot and that dumb? Surely it's not possible! So, so common. SO rude. Ugh. And he always fell for it too.

Cecil: Having to find a new batch of interns every few weeks is a bit daunting, but thanks to their partnership with the college, there tends to be a steady supply of applicants.

Jon: Elias Bouchard. And Martin. And the fact nothing is where any sense would suggest it should be. And the maggots, those are weird, and... multiplying? Gross.

YT‘s least favorite job is getting someone to sign for delivery. This is often more difficult than you would think. People will take the package and walk off with it and not sign, if she’s not careful.

Abe no Seimei does not like formal meetings on the Floating Plain of Heaven. They take a long time, he is always near the back, and he rarely gets to talk with anyone. He is very grateful when someone can give him an excuse to miss these formal events.

From the way Murderbot talks about its job, you would think it hates everything about the work it does. But that’s not really the case - it finds its work very engaging and derives satisfaction from a job well done. It does not like when clients disregard its advice. This causes a lot of unnecessary anxiety and difficulty.
