Continuing my Spoopy Season theme this month...

Your character is going to a Halloween fancy dress party. What costume do they choose for themselves?

Is it a home-made costume (did their mum make it?) or is it store-bought?

Wilson has a mad scientist costume! Canon is vague about where it came from and it's very possible that the shadows made it. Wormwood also has a costume from the same general source, but it's really more of a seasonally appropriate bodily transformation; they turn into a pumpkin person.

Cirava seems like the type to cosplay a character from a troll anime, but buy the costume online; they don't have enough crafting supplies in their hive to make a good one themself.

Aradia dresses up as Troll Indiana Jones. The costume is mostly made of thrifted and found parts.

Bastion can't really buy a costume; even avoiding the problems with walking into a store by ordering one over the internet, there's not much that would fit. They also aren't shaped all that much like a human or animal, although this might be a solvable problem since humans often make costumes that are inspired by nonhumanoid things but reinterpreted to suit their body plan. (This is basically what their canon Halloween skin is; it's gravestone-themed and -colored, but still Bastion-shaped.) Alternately, they could do a partial reconfiguration that has the treads from their tank form and make a vehicle costume. Maybe some sort of construction equipment, like a bulldozer or an excavator. Or, they could skip all of that, buy a large piece of white fabric, and go as a sheet ghost.
