Wednesday DE: pic is worth a thousand words

Hello everyone, happy Turkey Eve to those in the places that are doing Thanksgiving tomorrow!

The icon on this post I stumbled across while looking for journal icons and it was so damn random I found it hilarious and I snagged it and use it when and where I find it funny. I'm laughing now because it really did come up when I hit the random option and it was just too perfect. XD

It's from Marian's last 1-2 episodes (in BBC Robin Hood Season 2), while she's being held prisoner by the Sheriff & Guy of Gisborne. At this point, she's still being carted across the desert and trying to escape however she can.

Milliways-RP-Wise she's aware headed toward her murder at Guy's hands, while protecting The King, and still trying to hope her Milli-friends really will find a way to save her after those events without the king dying or them getting caught, too.

(Spoilers: They totally do.)

This is such a good scene. It's the end of crossover Invasion! Sara and Oliver are standing there watching their teams, and Flash team together, all celebratory and having this goodbye conversation (just pre-hug).





I love this moment because for as much darkness and trauma they both still carry -- and the fact they just went through having to fight each other all out & being thrust into a mass shared hallucination where Laurel was alive -- they both acknowledge that everything they went through (starting with the sinking of The Gambit & imprisonment on Lian Yu) opened the door for the outstanding heroes of the light around them now.

For people like Barry, and Kara, and Ray, the rest of Team Flash, Legends, Team Arrow and, and everything in between. The people who are so purely good and dedicated to their job for the right reasons, who do it the right way, without their darkness, the amount of blood on their hands, parts of their souls lost, or the trail of bodies still left in their wake.

That maybe everything they've carried, and still do, was and is worth it to open the door for that to be in the world/universe/multiverse, keeping it safe.

I love them and this scene so much. It's So good and just a really great moment between them. They have this bond over that shared experience between the two of them that no one else could truly understand, but that makes them who they are now and helped build the brave new world of heroes they're in. And they each carry it and move forward with it because that's who they are and neither of them would have it any other way.

Also, their jackets are both fire!

I love, love, love this scene so much and I deeply agree. They do have this bond with each other that surpasses everyone else in their lives because they've both been through absolutely so much and they understand each other both at their best and their worst. But, also, this moment just gets me in the heart so deeply.

It's first big, every current DC-TV Teams-crossover and it's them having this full-circle moment right at the end, before she James Dean's it back to Time Ship. They can't change who they are and what made them, but they can acknowledge that so much light & goodness came out of the darkness they went through/still fight. That neither of them would change it. I just. MMMYY HEART to them. To this moment.

ANNDDD yes I want those jackets.

(And find it ironically amusing they are in matching shades for it.)

Aha. This icon isn’t even from Smallville. It’s a still taken from when the actress was guest starring on the Vampire Diaries and I thought it looked enough like Tess.

This icon is of 22 year old Yamato from Last Evolution: Kizuna, and it's immediately after he and Taichi, the last un-brainwashed members of the Eight (bar Sora, who is -- weirdly nearly absent from this film), have been knocked down and bloodied by an energy blast, beaten up by their friends, and nearly smothered to death.

So it's a very -- typically Yamato moment. Physically he's just tanked enough damage that he should be dead, and psychologically he's taken a fair amount of damage too, and he's been told in no uncertain terms that if he exerts his powers to fight, he'll burn them out and lose Gabumon (which we the audience know is temporary, but as far as he knows is permanent), and in spite of that he's picked himself up to keep fighting.

And then it leads to this scene, which is great.

I'm preeeetty sure this one is from season one when Barry went up against Kyle Nimbus, aka The Mist.

Their first confrontation didn't go great and it ended with Barry and a chest full of poison gas and one Big Ass Needle.

This is him just before he wakes up from all of that and I use it when he's been in a Situation or done something less than smart that has him laid out.

One of the few cute pieces of Ray & Allison during her second marriage in the 60's. Proof that there was some peace garnered there

(even if she openly admits from the outset of just being found she only married him "to have something to hold on to" while she was waiting to be found, because "she never gave up on any of them" and we find out sssuuuppper fast in S2 that a year into this marriage Ray knows nothing about 'the Real Allison Hargreeves.' Not her powers, her past, the Academy, the team, the future, the end of the world, her previous marriage, or the most important person in her life -- her daughter, that is everything she's fighting to get back to.

Which is sort of understandable in retrospect, if still horrid and wrong, given when he begins to find out small things about who she really is he has an incremental mental breakdown basically within days.).

BUT A TWO-SECOND MOMENT OF MONTAGE CUTENESS STILL.

This one won't be used in Milliways for a really, really long time, but it was used, along with the other two Ray icons, in the circuit of Allison's newest guilt-self-recrimination fest on returning from Season Two update in her other game.

Hhheeeyy. It's my newest favorite, because random loves me. I was actually worried since her icons are back to like only having the smallest of handfuls right now.

This is Logan, Jean, and Scott -- the officially (officially unofficially????) poly couple being written in Marvel/the X-Men books currently. It hasn't really been said, but we have overt conversations and Jean kissing everyone, and FTB sex scenes with her, and post-bed conversations with the boys, as well as them hugging/dancing together (same issue), everyone on family vacation together, and Logan living in the Summer's House on the moon where the three have linked bedrooms. #ICantMakeThisStuffUpEven

This is one of Jo's casual 'bar girl' and all places icons. When she's pleased, shiny, sassy, and probably flirting like she's breathing.

AHAHAHAHA, this is one of my favorite ridiculous scenes.

Cisco throws Barry a bachelor party and, so Barry doesn't miss out on the fun, concocts an alcoholic elixir designed to get past Barry's metabolism and give the man a buzz.

It... does a lot more than that and Barry ends up plastered.

This is Cisco looking on, watching Barry embarrass himself, declare, "I'M THE FLASH!" to a bar full of people who find his antics hysterical, and sob over chicken wings and the fact that there was plenty of room on the door for both Rose and Jack.

This icon serves as both Cisco's 'What have I done?' face and, as the title reads, his 'I'm so embarrassed for you, bro' expression.

Big Eric on his knees crying in front of little Godric.

Not used often (and I tend to post with my default icons anyway) but handy for big, emotional stuff.

this one is from early in Far From Home - Peter had to escape all the media people asking if he was going to 'be the next Iron Man' and take over as leader of the Avengers and it was just a little too much. so, he's hanging out on a rooftop, getting some air so he doesn't end up having a full-on panic attack. a few seconds after this v specific still, he turns to his right to find a giant-ass Iron Man mural on the wall.

haven't used this one in M'ways yet b/c he's still just Peter and Spidey hasn't shown up for the people who don't already know. but this gets used for Spidey interacting w/ ppl who know he's Spidey.

most of Harry's icons are inactive, but this one... this one was made by a fellow RP'er for Harry as bartender - it's David James Elliot standing in front of a bar w/ the barback visible-ish behind him.

it's labeled as 'serious' - b/c he just has a srs face... so, when Harry's being kinda serious, this is one of his icons. it's just a generic/neutral icon for 'everyday use'.
