Is your character(s) the type to ignore or report someone who is shoplifting? Is the answer different depending on what is being stolen? Or if it is a small store vs a big corp store?

Cassian won't report anyone, any kind of reporting goes to the Empire or someone who's probably corrupt so he probably would help them. Also true of Will S.

Charles, I think it depends on the situation but he probably wouldn't.

I think Sameth would approach them and try to say something since he's kind of authority in a way and that's only right.

William, hm, again it depends but he's in a world of small shops and probably knows the shop owners so would say something.

Demeter in a small shop would say something.

Moist would probably be the one stealing.

Tumnus would say something.

Ivan would be more likely to do something.

YT would not because she knows how loss prevention and store security works. Either it’s not worth their time or the person is gonna get busted by a MetaCop or WorldBeat or something and she’s not gonna snitch on anyone to those guys.

Abe no Seimei will offer to buy things for anyone who is shoplifting food, sanitary items, or other essentials. If they are stealing luxury goods though he will “accidentally” trip them.

It’s not Murderbot’s problem unless Murderbot has been contracted to consider it a problem, and Murderbot probably isn’t going to take that kind of job.

Molly has been (in little Moll's case, still is) the one shoplifting, and it's not at all out of the realms of possibility that she would be again. She would frankly rather die than report someone for stealing from a store, and if they were stealing necessities like food, diapers, etc. or look like they desperately need the money she'd probably deliberately distract the staff to make sure they could get away safely.

Poe and BB-8 would do the same. When he's been flush with money, Poe would probably quietly-but-charmingly intervene and pay for the goods himself, particularly if it's a kid.

McGonagall would probably feel like propriety requires her to report a thief, but on the other hand previous experiences have given her a robustly sceptical opinion of authority (at least, authority which isn't HER). She would most likely compromise by quietly preventing the theft herself, especially if the thief's a kid. On the other hand, if they're stealing necessities, then she'd either stop them and pay herself for whatever they need or become instantly and very robustly blind.

Max prefers not to go too near any police he doesn't know when he's not in a position of authority. He would absolutely not get involved at all.

Coulson is probably my most law-abiding pup and also has previous when it comes to dealing with people stealing from a store... On the other hand, shop-lifting is not exactly the crime of the century. He'd probably stop them/report them if it was a Mom and Pop-type store, but Wal-mart can cope with losing a couple of bags of chips or whatever.

Neither Snow Leopard Woman, Victoria, Nebula nor War would care at all, and would all be flabbergasted that anyone would think they should. Later in canon, Nebula would actively intervene to stop a young thief from getting caught (although in the most deniable way possible), and then refuse to admit she'd done any such thing.
