Yamato sort of doesn't fear death at all. Which, I mean, he reincarnates, so it's not as big of a deal as it could be -- but so do Taichi and Jyou, who absolutely fear death and struggle with their fear of it frequently, so we can probably chalk this one up to The Takaishida Bros both being awful fearless berserkers.
And his particular domain in the Digital World pantheon is death -- and both Adventure and AUdventure put a special emphasis on the idea that he's almost completely inescapable and implacable once he decides he's going to kill someone.
What he absolutely does fear is people who don't die properly. Kid is absolutely terrified of ghosts, literally cowering behind Taichi at just someone telling a ghost story in the dark, and he's not big on zombies either. When Ken mentions the mere idea of mummies in 02, Yamato is immediately and visibly frightened. There's probably a few reasons for this: a) He is so Dog, and it's a riff on dogs barking at ghosts, b) He is Death, and something refusing to adhere to the basic rule of being dead is anathema to him, c) Can't punch a ghost, and d) It is very funny to see the most fearless member of the Chosen turn into a fearful puppydog every time anyone talks about ghosts.
AUdventure clarifies that he's actually fully capable of killing ghosts (at least so long as he's under a full moon, given that he is Moon Guy this might not apply during daytime) showing him able to impose mortality on a vengeful ghost so that it can bleed and be murdered with conventional weapons. In most continuities, though, he's never going to learn that about himself because he's too busy hiding.
Ahsoka has trouble with the "luminous being are we" thing. Yes, she knows death just means rejoining Force but that still means the person is gone. I am leaning towards grief being why it took her a few years to get back in the fight post-O66, so yeah the death of friends and family hits her hard.
Jess is okay with her death. She's accepted it and knows it will happen eventually. She is not okay with her friends eventual passing. Not at all.
Viv logically accepts it but rebels against it being a valid reason. She hasn't processed the death of her mother or twin brother, so until that happens she is not okay with death. By all this I mean she's processed the fact of the deaths but not the emotional reality and meaning of those deaths. She is getting better but Marvel hasn't bothered to take the time to show her grieving and it annoys me.
Ben is okay with death. It's kind of cool and all. He gets plenty of time and hang out and doesn't have Daddy Hargreeves making him do horrible things to people.
