I should have been in bed hours ago. Instead, I just keep hitting refresh, and biting my fingernails, and trying not to melt into a puddle of squeeage on the floor, because that would be messy.
Yay! How can you two be fluffy and angsty at the seem time? I keep on wondering how long they're going to resist each other now they both know. Better than fanfic.
See, the way I remember my catechism is that wherever there is love, God is also present.
Aziraphale and Crowley definitely love each other.
Which means that God is present, and knows all about them both already, and how they feel.
Which means that it is supremely unlikely that God is going to make Aziraphale Fall.
I can see the Metatron and Michael getting annoyed, and likewise Beelzebub, Beliel and Apollyon as well--but if God refuses to let Aziraphale Fall, there's not a lot anyone can do about it.
And a demon who loves an angel, and who sabotages his own work by trying to drive away humans and angels who might otherwise be damned, and who apologises for his actions and who tries to atone...
...Crowley, you're no angel, but I have serious questions about how demonic you are at this stage.
Well, see, the thing with Crowley is that, whilst he may not seem entirely demonic, that's only towards friends. He fucks with humanity on a daily basis, and has had Significant Influence regarding a fair number of atrocities, but friends are friends.
Also, Aziraphale's take on the God situation was that, especially these days, He tends to leave the day-to-day running of affairs - the paperwork, so to speak - to beings like the Metatron and various Archangels. All of whom are a damn sight more zealous than the big man himself. It's a sort of a monarch and Prime Minister situation.
On top of which, in 'Good Omens' canon, at the end, it doesn't boil down to Good and Evil, or Love and Hate, but Our Side and Their Side. And you do not fall in love with the Enemy.
*is waiting for the Muse of Music to start singing "Bizarre Love Triangle" (http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/neworder/bizarrelovetriangle.html) in their general direction*
