Do events/activities that take place in the guests' rooms at Milliways fall under the prohibition against "professional activities," or are they free and clear?

My take on it, given that people can do their "professional activities" outside with no trouble, would be that the guest rooms are clear, too. I got the impression that the prohibition was there to keep stuff from going down when a lot of people were around to get hurt. Guest rooms wouldn't carry that risk so much.

Of course, I'm not a mod, so this could be entirely wrong.

Hmm. OK. Well, for purposes of this evening, I'm going to presume that this is so.

For those who know WoT canon, Moiraine can use the crystal that she wears as an aid that allows her to listen to the conversations of others -- particular others that she focuses on -- at a distance. With the guest rooms being just above the bar, it's logical that she'd try to eavesdrop on a particular conversation, if she was suspicious that it was occuring. I'll post accordingly.

If not allowable, (Mods?), then I'll retcon it by saying that the bar proper is shielded or something, and she fails.

Not the past one, b/c she wouldn't have been suspicious then. However, since she is now, and she's about to leave... (because I am exhausted and have to work tomorrow), she's going to try to eavesdrop on Mat and Peter in the next little bit.

(Which, of course, Mat wouldn't know. Unless his medallion detected it, but it wouldn't protect Peter, would it? Would it even trigger, since it's not a direct attack/working against him, precisely? Hmm. This could be interesting.)

Good question. I'll check the canon, to figure out just how the medallion works. I'm a little fuzzy on the particulars, other than that it does stop the Power against him directly. I don't know about Peter.

If Mat's medallion can tell him, we can figure out a way to retcon it somehow so that Moiraine wouldn't hear anything.
