The 134 cocktail party

As mooted IC between Mike and Indy this afternoon, Karen and I have decided that it was a tad unfair to have our pups live in such a nice suite without letting everyone else enjoy it once in a while. So we are throwing open the doors to Suite 134 next Sunday, in the guise of an informal cocktail party for all of Mike, Indy and Lorelai's friends and acquaintances.

The general format will be a single post in Indy's journal with a link from the bar and lake party-style threading within. Post your character into the party and then tag other characters' threads, and so on ad infinitum or until my inbox explodes.

Though in Millitime the party will only take place on Sunday night, the post will be placed early enough in the day for most characters to attend, and play will happily extend for as long as posting continues.

As this is a private party, it will not technically be an 'open' post as such. Invites will be delivered by word-of-mouth tags during the rest of this week by all the host characters. If your pup doesn't get one then please use your judgment as follows:

1. If your character is friendly or acquainted with one of the hosts but didn't receive a formal invite, then please drag them along anyway. There are a lot of people to tag and we may not be able to invite everyone in actual rp. Invites are assumed for this class of character. This also extends to all staff members, even if they haven't formally met Indy, Mike or Lorelai. Indy has been living in the bar for seven months now and I always assume he knows who is on staff even if conversations haven't been role played.



2. If your character doesn't know, or isn't on good terms with any of the group, then their attendance may be viewed as strange. Nevertheless, if your character finds out about it and feels suitably aggrieved and wants to stir up trouble, just ping one of us to let us know they are coming.



3. And in the third case scenario: if your character isn't acquainted with ours and you would still like to join in the fun, feel free to tag any of the hosts this week and right the injustice. All three will be in the bar at varying times during the run-up for this purpose. Unannounced walk-ins without being accompanied by someone who knows the group will again be viewed as curious. This isn't a frat party, though it could naturally turn into one as the evening progresses. At which point nobody is going to care who is there. Again... just use your judgment.

And finally, in case you are thinking that a cocktail party isn't going to be any different to normal drinking in the bar... there will be a surprise or two. Or at least, there has to be now, because I just said there would. Bugger! *starts thinking fast*

It's so nice to be invited, but while Flash wants to be there, his mun is away for the weekend at a con.

Any thoughts on how he can be there in some fashion?

How about the case where a character is with one of the characters that are invited, as Asar-Suti with Gil? Are people allowed to 'bring somebody', that is, AS would come with Gil because Gil is invited?

Oh, certainly. 'Plus one' is implied at the very least with every invite.
