Gil? Nightmare up.
Round two of the nightmares will be starting Monday. I'm going to get caught up today and tomorrow, then go camping.
Anyone who wants a nightmare next week, post a comment. I think that'll be the sanest thing; you can opt in and opt out each week.

Summarize the movie. I hated it the first time.

Displaced monkeys find a large stone slab that teaches them how to use clubs. Time flashes forward to ubiquitous special effects shots and we find out that a similar stone slab has been found buried on the moon. Much secrecy ensues, and a ship is launched to Jupiter. There is jogging. HAL, Frank, and Dave are introduced. HAL has trouble assimilating conflicting information and begins to crack up. He kills Frank, shuts down life support for the hibernating scientists, and locks Dave outside of the ship. Dave manages to get back in and shuts HAL down from inside his core. Afterwards, the ship reaches Jupiter and high weirdness ensues involving a psychedelic warp, perspective shifts, and Louis XIV furniture. Then, there’s a big fetus in orbit.

Essentially. Joe and Billy meet as friends and become close buds - passionately so. They love each other or they hate each other, there really isn't an in-between. They decide to start a band, called Hard Core Logo. It's a punk band, and has moderate success (about as much as a canadian hard core punk band can) and then disappear from the scene. The movie takes place about 10 years after that. Billy comes back from California, where he'd been fronting on guitar for a player of a fairly famous band (Jennifur) who was in rehab. He's back for a fundraiser concert for a punk rocker who'd been shot. They do the concert, all is cool. They decide to do a one-last-hurrah type tour in a beat up old van. The concerts are a bust, there's a hole in the van, the bass player lost his head meds, basically everything goes to shit. Many things are slowly revealed, including the fact that (most likely) Joe and Billy have slept together at least once, and not in a happy fun way. Turns out the guy the fundraiser was for wasn't *actually* shot - nope, that was all a ploy of Joe's to get Billy to come back to Canada. He figured if he could lure him back, get him playing with the band again, he'd realize that's where he was supposed to be and not go back to California. Billy gets an invite to play for Jennifur full-time and the director of the "documentary" finds out. He tells Joe before Billy gets a chance to. They play their last show, and it basically disintegrates into an all out brawl between the two of them, punches are thrown, Billy's strat is destroyed (not the strat!) and it's just a mess. After which, Joe goes outside and, in front of the camera, shoots himself in the head.
So! That ends the movie canon. From there, we've decided that Billy is *also* dead - he was so upset over everything that happened with Joe that he went on a binge and was driving drunk and wrapped his car around the tree. So, they're both dead and here in Milliways.
Joe needs Billy more than anything, but he's ridiculously dysfunctional and messes everything up, and Billy doesn't want to have much of anything to do with him.
*deep breaths* There you go! Let me know if you have any more questions. :-)
