So Sirius has about seven or eight hundred posts on his Lake Party and Nekkid Swimmin' posts (I'm so glad it went over well!) and I was wondering if people want me to narrate through the whole threadzilla thing, or if you were planning on doing it personally for your own characters? I don't mind doing it but I haven't time this morning so it would have to wait until late this afternoon or tomorrow.

Nope, I had all notifications on, it was the only way I could manage things. The funny thing was that I wasn't getting all my notifications, and the ones I did get came out of order.

The REALLY funny thing is that the only notifications I didn't get at all till this morning?

Were the threads I was personally involved in.

Yeah, I got all of my OOC comments, but missed half of my RP thread notifications. The ones I did get were out of order and came far too late to be of use. LJ hates Milliways, I think. We kill its servers.

I really recommend getting Mozilla Firefox. The tabbed browsing helps so much. I was able to open all of my RP threads in different tabs in the same browser, and check them easily without killing my desktop. I wound up having to take the F5 route halfway through, because three characters + no notifications = A Very Bad Thing.

Out of morbid curiosity, how much did all of those notifications jack up your inbox quota?

Well, what I do is simply open a new window for the threads I'm in, and it's down on the menu bar -- like tabs, really, and since I'm never in too many places at once...eh. *shrugs* I keep thinking I'll switch over, and then not getting round to doing it.

I'm not sure how much the comments would have raised my inbox quota; I deleted them as soon as they showed up. I do know that, at times, I'd refresh my mailbox and sixty new emails would appear :D

*laughs* If I'd tried to open a new window for the different threads last night, I'd have had something like 12 browser windows open, and my computer would have crashed in a fit of whining silicon chips. And that's before IM windows and mp3 player, and... yeah. Firefox is my god.

Sixty at once? Dear god. All in conversations, or independent messages? If independently... o.o

Mostly conversations, but you know Gmail doesn't thread at all. Most of them I could skim, see that they didn't involve me or require my attention, and delete.

I'm still getting them, actually, I just got five from early on in the post last night. :D

At least you didn't have to go through and individually check off each message for deletion. You could just delete the crappily-threaded conversations. If you'd been using Hotmail... *shudders*

I think I'm finally caught up on all of mine. I'm still missing some notifications, but I've never had them show up this late. They probably just got eaten by cyberspace goblins.

That's true, though it doesn't tell me what-all emails are in the thread so I always hesitate. At any rate, it wasn't that difficult, and as I was playing the whole time, I managed. I usually wake up to some Milliways residuals in my inbox from after I've gone to sleep, but I only had fifteen this morning, and I was fearing I'd have forty or fifty :D

I could do it! They're actually pretty organised really. It's kind of like....it looks really chaotic, but then you start to understand it, a bit.

Actually, I suppose it wouldn't be that bad, since people tended to start new comment threads for their conversations, as opposed to, say, Naked ~~Orgy~~ Karaoke, in which everyone was interacting with everyone else all at once and it made my head explode.

I'll probably run a brief summary for each of my characters, but I still think it'd be hilarious to have one massive write-up for the whole shebang. I'm also evil like that. :)

For your sake, I hope you had email notifications turned off. Thank God for Gmail... my inbox went up 3 full MB last night.
