Ok, here’s the deal. I hired on the basis of who Bernard would hire after the interviews. It was all about finding a slot that fit the characters who interviewed. If you applied, but did not get hired, I urge you to contact Gil-mun about working in the kitchen; she may be interested in hiring a few dishwashers and sous-chefs.

I couldn’t possibly hire everyone, and if there are hurt feelings OOC about this, I can't really do anything about that, and I'm sorry. I did my best. The supply far outweighed the demand.

Now. On to the fun stuff.


Everyone: Here's a basic rule, simple but important, that everyone needs to be cognizant of (and yes, I did discuss this with Nny): The Security staff are not necessarily there to automatically break up a disturbance. Often, bar fights are staged to reveal important information or to do important character work. The Aziraphale/Crowley punchup comes to mind. So, what I suggest to general players is that you let the barstaff know if something is going down, so that we can plot with you. Similarly, I am asking Security staff in particular to contact players before breaking up a fight. Don't go in, guns blazing. This isn't a real bar. It's a drama, and sometimes the drama has to be let happen.

Staff: The thing to know is that Bernard won't make a schedule for you in the game. You work when you can; you can imply there's a schedule, if you want, but I don't have the time to make one up. The bartenders can tag team on Happy Hour with me. You can tag team with each other. The idea, of course, is that we spread out as best as possible, so that the bar is manned every night. I'll be around most on certain weeknights and I'll try my best for the weekends; most weekends I'll be in.

So yeah. Thank god that's over.

Well, ok. Can you just maybe make an OOC decision that Tim just doesn't see the conflict brewing until you the mun have had contact with the fighters? That way, you wouldn't have to compromise your characterization, or the needs of other muns.

That could work... the only real issue i have is if somethign happens under Tims nsoe while he's "On duty" and him getting in trouble for not noticing.....

Tim-mun, my point is that if you plot something out, the likelihood is that Tim would not get in trouble. He can not-notice a fight brewing and then notice it at the plotted-out point and take care of it in an agreed-upon fashion. Bernard is NOT a micromanager. He's not a taskmaster. Tim is not likely to get in trouble for belatedly noticing a fight. The far worse situation would be an OOC problem if he used his magic to stop a conflict before it comes to fruition.

And if you want, we can make his getting in trouble into a plot for him. This is all negotiable.

Added to this is the fact that Tim can't possibly be on duty every single night -- he can leave Milliways and does on occasion. He could just not be in the bar when a fight occurs.

There are lots of ways to handle it.
