Summary of Arithon's thread.

cut for size )

Not spellchecked. Spellcheck is being a bitch.

Selected highlights: Moiraine goes woowoo-bananas! Nick feeds on Svava! Arithon implies that Tonks is a stupid whore!

... and because I'd signed up for NaNoWriMo right before joining Milliways.

I know there are at least a few others who are doing both.

As such, I've created a community to help us when our heads esplode.

Membership is only moderated because I want to make sure that people are actually members of Milliways before joining this - there are, after all, other NaNo communities on LJ.

After the chaos of Arithon's arrival, masterfully summarized elsewhere, the main participants (or, at least, though who were not currently occupied with being tied up in a cell) did the sensible thing and retreated to the bar for drinks.

And continuity was smashed and burned and its ashes danced upon, so I'm not even going to try to impose any. This is summarized by conversation.

And then everyone went to bed because all the muns' brains had stopped working hours before.

We've had a request that will hopefully help streamline the Milliways community at large. We now have a Security Office comm ([livejournal.com profile] ways_office) and an Evil Boathouse comm ([livejournal.com profile] thebooooathouse), both of which conduct business outside of Milliways.

It would be helpful, for those trying to keep up with all the goings-on of Milliways, if significant plot-related threads could be linked in the main bar, as happens currently with major House of Arch threads. Even if the plot does not directly affect bar happenings (although with Security Office threads it's more than likely they will have an impact), it's helpful to the continuity of the community as a whole.

Any questions/concerns, etc, please feel free to ping meggouc on either AIM or Y!M.

Thank you.

Arrgh!

Whoever just sent me an IM over AIM, send it again? Or something? No idea who it was, accidentally hit "Nope" on the "Do you want to accept an IM from _______?" message because I hit space right as it was popping up...

And chances are so great that it's somebody from Milliways, which is... why I'm posting this.

So this afternoon I finally had one of those amazing MilliMoments (we should start a community for it.)

I was in Tel Aviv for a colloquium on the peace treaty between Israel and Jordan, because I'm a psycho who's actually interested in this crap. I spent most of the day before the colloquium at the house of my good friend Tal.

At around 12:30ish, I got a phone call from Grima-mun (whom I adore and miss greatly with all my heart). While talking to her, I'm wandering all around Tal's house, and stop by the bookshelf which is filled with several hundred books, most of which are in Hebrew.

In the middle of all the books, however, smack in between an English collection of Mark Twain short stories and a Hebrew novel by Sholom Aleichem, is:

Still Life With Woodpecker, by Tom Robbins.

Naturally, I borrowed it and read it immediately. It's a weird, weird book. But at least now I know who Bernard is.

Also: I NOW HAVE FARSCAPE SEASON THREE, WHICH I WILL WATCH INCESSANTLY OVER THE NEXT TWO DAYS!
