Formerly evil folks, sing out if you wanna be on the Redemption Is Hard banner!

And let me know if there's a specific icon of yours you want me to use.

Ducks

Just a quick note to let everyone know that there are four resident ducks on or around the lake now (as approved by PeterP-mun). They might have been there all along... probably hiding in the trees during the winter... and there were five. But one got beaked to death in a deer burger feeding frenzy at the lake party. Potentially sinister and definitely carnivorous. That is all.

Richard is done for the day. ^_^

Richard is bartending.

{I will start remembering to post these things. Promise.}

So, ah.

I was mistaken!

Slowtimed threads are, as of this minute, still happening in the Lake Party.

We're up to 6223 comments.

The mind boggles, people.

So much love.

Lake

What's the lake area like, now, after the party? Asar-Suti takes frequent walks there, and I'm a bit at a loss as how to describe it. It's still/again Scotland in February, is it? The lake slowly freezing over again, snow returning as it falls, general cold so the igloo survives without a sustaining spell?

Am I correct?

Would've jumped earlier, but boyfriend's cat and LJ are both apparently in a plot to keep me from posting.

Anyway, yeah, character questions. Answers probable, since most of mine love to talk. (Even if one of them doesn't give totally understandable answers.)

Woo.

I think it's probably fair to say that anyone in the bar around this time might have seen this.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sawyer hates his mun.

Many of you may have seen the small set of posts were Asmodean accidently dropped a Memento of his mother. Moiraine found it and it is now locked up like Fort Knox in her room.

I am looking for volunteers for a small plot involving all the havoc this thing wreaks between when it leaves her possession and when it returns to Asmodean.

The way the Plot will work: By oh-so-convenient accidents, your character will acquire Mother's Memento. Exactly what they do with it is their decision (though please inform me). More than likely they will not keep it very long, and then it will pass on to the next person. When people run out, Asmodean acquires it. This is subject to collapsing into a catastrophe at the any character's whim. I, Asmodean-mun, will largely be moderating the plot, guiding it on its path of angst.

What is Mother's Memento: The item is a receptacle of about three-hundred years worth of angst that Asmodean felt for his mother. More details to follow...

The Effects of Mother's Memento: Upon initially touching it, the character will react in an unpleasant way to be determined by the mun (fainting, nausea, etc.). Keeping the item for a short period of time will result in feelings of angst. Long-term effects should be worked out with me, and if you want your character to be a long-time carrier please indicate that in your post.

This is a interest-driven plot, so it will be as big or as small as the character's want. Please leave a comment to this if you want one of your character's to participate. Please feel free to contact me (contact info is on Asmodean's userinfo page).

Thanks,
Asmodean-mun

Hey.

I (Ce'Nedra) was here a whiles ago, but then disappeared; I want to come back, but I want to talk to my (almost-?)husband first.

Could someone point his mun towards my mun, please?

You can im us (dvorasara on aim or miriyami on yahoo!im); just say who you are in your first message so that we answer you back without quizzing you on who you are.

Thanks!

Was reading an article in class today that talked about substance abuse and instantly thought of Milliways upon reading some signs of it. So, here are the signs of substance abuse. Are you an addict? I am.

DSM-IV Diagnostic Criteria: Substance Dependence

--------------------------------------------------

A maladaptive pattern of substance use, leading to clinically significant impairment or distress, as manifested by three (or more) of the following, occurring at any time in the same 12-month period:

(1) Tolerance, as defined by either of the following:
a. A need for markedly increased amounts of the substance to achieve intoxication or desired effect.
b. Markedly diminished effect with continued use of the same amount of the substance.

(2) Withdrawal, as manifested by either of the following:
a. The characteristic withdrawal syndrome for the substance
b. The same (or a closely related) substance is taken to relieve or avoid withdrawal symptoms.

(3) The substance is often taken in larger amounts or over a longer period than was intended (loss of control).

(4) There is a persistent desire or unsuccessful efforts to cut down or control substance use (loss of control).

(5) A great deal of time is spent in activities necessary to obtain the substance, use the substance, or recover from its effects (preoccupation).

(6) Important social, occupational, or recreational activities are given up or reduced because of substance use (continuation despite adverse consequences).

(7) The substance use is continued despite knowledge of having a persistent or recurrent physical or psychological problem that is likely to have been caused or exacerbated by the substance. (adverse consequences).
