As of
this, Wash has left the building.
And...damn. What can I say? This guy was my first pup in this madhouse, apped when I stumbled across Milliways about a month after watching
Firefly for the first time, and when I look back on the past two and a half years, I'm pretty amazed at how far he came. (Not to mention how far
I've come: his run spanned my graduation from college and fell one month shy of spanning my graduation from grad school. That's never going to stop making me go, "Holy crap," y'all.)
None of that could've happened without everyone here. Everybody who's ever threaded with Wash, everybody who hasn't -- there's a reason I've stuck around this long, through all the rough patches Milliways has hit over the years, and why I'm sure as hell gonna keep sticking around for as long as I can: because you're frankly awesome people who've helped shape a frankly awesome corner of the interwebs.
So thank you. All of you. Thanks for helping to make this Wash's home away from
Serenity, for saving his life, for giving him family both literal and figurative, for threads as likely to make me cry or shiver as ones that make me dive for the paper towels because I just snorted tea up my nose. It was a joy to play him, and while he might still be popping up in the occasional OOM as needed by the crew, he is, effectively, retired from active play now.
See you around the bar.
