While we have no official news source -- only the Troll Lords forum, where the company head's posted about his death, as he was working for Troll Lord games -- it seems fairly certain that Gary Gygax has left us for GMing in a higher plane.

Now, I know a few people here are going to scoff. They're going to think Dice and Paper games are silly. They're not going to understand clustering around the table is less then the creative writing that comes here to live on a daily basis. -- but I'll say this: Milliways would not be here without Gary Gygax. Roleplaying was nothing until he gave it a few books, mimeographed rule sheets, and some dice. It grew from there. And we wouldn't be here, wearing the skins we are now, if it weren't for him.

So roll some dice, break out the old D&D books, and search for that 1000gp diamond for the resurrection spell...

Edit: Confirmed. It's on Google News and other sites as well. Rest in Peace, Gary. Hope you roll nothing but 20s from here on out.

Okay, so my laptop is going in to be fixed. (Before I murder it myself) Which means that I won't have internet access for a while. After tonight it's being stuffed into the box and DHL is going to be called in the morning so they can come and get it. Hopefully it'll come back nice and healthy so I don't have to throw it out the window.

So I will see you all when I can. Whenever I get my laptop back.

People who've tagged Mac's mingling thread in the auction: I swear I am not ignoring you! My body's been doing that fun thing these past few days where it needs sleep, and it's decided it's going to get that sleep whatever damn way it can, including clubbing me over the head and dragging me away when I least expect it. (And then shoving me back awake at even weirder hours, because it loves me just that much. Ngh.)

Anyway, I am hoping I'll be around tomorrow night by ten PM eastern, with the further hope that I'll actually stay awake and focused long enough to thread for a few hours. For now, though, I need to crawl away to bed for the umpteenth time. See you tomorrow? *sheepishly hopeful smile*

I know I still have slowtimes talking people in to it. If your pup is going to join please post here at the auction. We can Millitime out what happens or handwave it.

Speaking of handwaving, just because you haven’t heard of the auction from Ginny or Lilly IC please if you want to bid handwave it. We want every one to play just say your pup saw a sign. Or was given a flyer from the bar, or wondered here to the party. Don’t think your pup would bid? Come mingle at the party give them a couple drinks. Maybe they will.

Again like Emmy said we do not need cash donations. If you or your pup can think it up it can be used. The sky is the limit. But please keep it some what realistic.
