Sorry to everyone I've been RPing with (this covers... this account, 500_year_shaman, and laidback_shaman, and I think that's all I was playing with most recently).

I hadn't intended to be away so long without saying anything, but between costuming and preparing for Norwescon, and Sakuracon, and some... messy RL stuff, it happened.

Invites for Bob and Dot's wedding, and the in-bar reception, have now been left with Bar. Both are scheduled for Wednesday, May 14th.

Those invited to the wedding itself include gone_byebye, first_sixth, sime_channel, dontlooklisten, goinghost, chicksdigtucker, bringnewjokes, and twiceahero. The reception will be open to anyone who knows the bride or groom, or who just wants to mooch free food.

The wedding will begin prethreading sometime in late April to head off the scheduling hell that comes with this sort of thing; the reception will be a party thread posted on the date in question.

ETA: katana_hacker and feminine_menace are also invited to the wedding. Thanks be to Austin for pointing that out.

Okay so here's the deal.

Dan Evans is supposed to bartend tomorrow @ 7PM PDT.

Work changed my schedule. Tomorrow I'm getting up at 5AM, heading to Costa Mesa to be there at 6:30AM, work starts at 7AM, and then work ends...at 7:30PM.

We're running a huge car show and will have to be on foot all day, instead of driving from location to location with the electric carts. I will be on my feet for 12 hours, then I need to drive home, and pass out unconcious facedown in a pillow.

So.

I need someone to take the bartending shift. I'm bummed out because I really want Dan to get a chance to bartend, but I just can't do it tomorrow night...I'll be too exhausted.

First one to claim it gets it.

Also, if someone wanted to pick up the Saturday Night Pimp post as a pinch hitter, that would be AWESOME.

Since applications are being approved, I thought it'd be a good idea to have a roll call for new pups. Possibly because I am a serial viewer of the cast list but always wind up missing the addition of new canons and new pups.

It's Jensen Ackles! Can I mistake him for Dean Winchester?
Kindasortanotreally. There's a resemblance, yeah, but they're not identical. If your character knows Ben/X5-493 (x5_493_ben), however, they are both genetically and physically identical. It's an X5! What's that mean?
It means he's better than you. Well, obviously there'll be exceptions, but the X5 generation is, as Logan Cale likes to remind us, a genetically engineered killing machine with all the efficiency and amplified hunting power of a cat. More on that. If your pup can smell on a better-than-human level, 494 will not smell right. He has a core body temperature of 101.8 degrees, so he is also literally hotter than you. Probably. He certainly won't fail to make that joke if the opening presents itself.

Humor aside, you can expect him to be an expert in all manner of fighting techniques, subterfuge tactics, languages, machines, weapons and computers, and a whole host of other things that make for a good soldier. It's just that whole socializing and blending in thing he hasn't had a lot of experience with yet. Wish him luck.
