Ever have one of those days where you look at a calendar, and you realize, 'Oh God, I have two weeks left to do everything that I've been putting off all summer'? I just did. That combined with the knowledge that I have a thesis to write and schools to apply to -- I've known this was coming for a while. I'm going to be making a serious effort to spend way less time on the internet from now through May.

This doesn't mean I'm leaving Milliways entirely; I love the game too much for that, and I don't know what I'd do for stress relief without it (besides maybe go repeatedly hit myself in the head with a 2x4). What it does mean is that there'll be very few entrance posts from me, and I won't be tagging out often or always reading the bar. If you see something that you think would interest me, point a link my way! If you have a thread you want to do and you don't mind sporadic tags, I'm all for it! And I'll be around for plot purposes. But I've got to cut back. People who I'm currently slowtiming with: I really appreciate your patience; I'm trying to finish all ongoing threads within the next week or so.

Hi, I'm Kelly (to net folks I'm usually Sunny, so you can call me by whichever you prefer)! I'm brand new to milliways and am playing Mr. Jacquel from Neil Gaiman's American Gods. 

I'm just swinging by the say hello. I'm going to be out of town next week so I won't be doing an IC post for the pup entering the bar until I get back but after that I can't wait to start! 

Edit: Almost new and improved, since I've picked a PB. I just have to figure out how to credit insanejournal iconmakers in lj as I have no iconmaking skills.

Leave of Absence, Sorta

In case anyone cared, I will be entertaining lots and lots of guests starting Tuesday and continuing through Friday. This will severely limit my online time, so don't expect me to start any threads during that period.

thecrackalope was, despite the awesome name, being very wonky for several of us - it took me eight tries to get one IM to show up - but new chats seemed to work fine, so we're now experimenting with thecrackawakes for the time being. See you there!

Hey all!

This, as some of you might have noticed already, is Wanda.

Wanda is currently still called Wanderer thanks to being from extremely early canon, but more importantly, Wanda is a parasitic body-snatching alien!

...This, naturally, might not go over well with some of Bar's patrons. Wanda, however, isn't prone to lying (and is in fact pretty darn terrible at it when she tries), and will quite cheerfully tell you all about her evil bodysnatching ways and then genuinely wonder why you're so angry with her.

Wanderer also occasionally can be seen thinking like this: thoughts in grey italics are actually the thoughts of Melanie, her host body's still-living personality, and can absolutely be picked up by any psychic who's listening. The fact that she tends to make faces at herself apropos of nothing and may occasionally blurt out random things that are contrary to what she feels like saying are kind of a tip off, too.

ANYWAY, this post is just to say that if you've got a pup who reacts badly to Wanderer (which is perfectly natural and which I'm totally cool with -- my other main pup is perfectblue and we all know how well she gets along with people!), she probably won't approach your pup again. This isn't because I hate you -- it's just because Wanda is the least confrontational type of an already nonviolent species. But I totally, completely don't mind if your pup hates her and you personally would still like to tag -- just let me know and I'll either have her tag in the approximate vicinity of your pup, or you can tag into her posts. I welcome all tags even if your character is full of rage and hate. :D

ON the other hand, if you don't want your pup upset by the announcement that he or she is talking to a bodysnatching alien thing, let me know and Wanda will keep her distance.

I'm also theoretically pingable on AIM at frozen illyria -- I am usually on, but also usually invisible, so don't let my seeming nonexistence deter you from pinging anyway.

My brain is not up to posting to structured games right now. Until further notice, precocioustilda, berryberryraz, and broodingbacchus will be available by request only. Which means: by all means, ask me for threads! Do it often, even! But I might not always be up to it, and I won't be posting for a while.

(Yes, Tilda's missed a few bartending shifts. Yes, I'm sorry about that. I might scrape up the brain to get her in sometime next week, or I might not.)
