milliways studies!

Hey guys,

So, some of you might remember the paper I did about Milliways as an online community a couple of years ago. Aspen had a great response to that paper at the time, so I added a link to her thread on the page too.

I know people have done papers about Milliways since then, and that there have been some interesting in-depth discussions about the game from time-to-time, and that's got me thinking it might be good to have links to those too so we could have them all together in one place.

I know there are entire LJ communities devoted to quasi-scholarly talk about RP, so I'm not trying to cover everything (though I could probably add links to those communities' profile pages). But if you have or know of threads or papers that deal specifically with Milliways in some way, let me know, and I'll add them to the page too.

saturday night pimps

We haven't had a pimp post in a long time, people. So! I expect to see lots of pimps here tonight, because the bar has just been awesome lately. Here are just a few things I've loved reading:

Esfir & Weyland - These OOMS are all incredible. This is a link to the latest in-bar link to them, I linked to that because there are warnings attached and you should heed them, but damn guys. Such a great plot going on here.

Mia & Draco - Another OOM, here, with bonus spa time for the happy couple! This was really cute and a great read.

If you folks haven't been following along with the City 17 plot, you are seriously, seriously missing out. In particular, Gordon's EP last night was a killer, all threads involved fabulous.

Another OOM, another awesome read - Hellboy & Liz have a talk. About kittens.

So here's how this is going to work.

1. We need to scale down the god plot, so if you're interested in [re]joining, you must be available for at least two threads in October. That's it. If you post here, make sure that you have that availability, and won't back out.

2. Post here if you are interested in the god plot, as a god or a human [at minimum, we need two humans and four gods], and the sin you'd most like to see. Depending on positive response, we will start immediately with the first thread.

Okay, that's it. I'm really hoping to do something with this, because I've already had a few people express interest in doing a mini-version of what we've discussed in the past.
