*shrugs* Personally, I like that interpretation of events. It fits with how I've always read James as being, and how the marriages of friends who have married young have resulted. It's much more realistic and believable to me than the "happily ever after" that people want to believe for James and Lily. They were just kids when they tied the knot, right out of Hogwarts, and their world was falling down around them. They were married precariously in a very dangerous time. It's clear that they loved each other and Harry madly, but love isn't always enough.
And now, if you'll excuse me, I'll just be over here awaiting my tarring and feathering by the torch-waving hordes...
*grins* No fear of tarring and feathering, dear. I, too, can also see the wisdom in this interpretation. It's certainly more realistic.
I think Tonks would have handled it better if Lily and James' problems had been revealed through a conversation just between she and James. But seeing Cara in Lily's place was rather like a bucket of cold water.
And disillusionment just plain sucks, no matter who you are. :)

Makes for really good plot, though.
