Daily Entertainment: the Odd Couples!
Do my eyes deceive me? Is there no daily entertainment up for us poor office shills who might be staring down the barrel of nothing to do (like me >.>)? We* must do something about that! And we shall!
We've talked about odd friendships. Now let's talk odd romantic relationships. Is your pup in a romantic pairing with someone you never in a million years thought they'd hook up with? Or are there other romantic relationships in game between two pups you never in a million years thought would make such a cute couple as they do?
To start: Simon Skinner and Ana Pascal. I don't know--when you consider that Ana, progressively opinionated as she is, fell for Harold Crick, an uptight IRS agent, it doesn't seem too odd that she's paired up ith a 60-year-old serial killer/supermarket manager, but the fact that said serial killer/supermarket manager is Simon Skiiner makes it odd enough.
Sarah Jane and James Bond is another one that seems odd if you don't think about it too much, but given the qualities he liked in Tracy Draco in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (namely that she's resourceful and adventurous), it's not that odd. It's just that Sarah Jane's not your typical Bond girl.
And my pups are not involved in this, but Le Chiffre/Villiers? Has no right to be as cute as it is. BUT IT IS CUTE.
Discuss!
* Not royal "we." Poster is unsure who "we" refers to, as there's only me. I think.

Heroes and villains, oh my!
Batman/Catwoman. There's a reason why that's so hot. But then again, Selina has evolved into an anti-hero, and although she's still a thief, she doesn't kill people...oh, wait, except for the woman that recently broke into Selina's apartment to hurt Selina's baby. That woman came to a very bad end via clawhammer, but I digress.
The Golden Age Green Lantern (Alan Scott)finally married his longtime nemesis the Harlequin (Molly Mayne, and yes, she was a villain) after they both realized that they'd been mutually in love with each other for a couple of decades (there was always a heavy, heavy undercurrent of attraction between them), and they're still happily married to this day, which makes me squee. She gave up a life of crime, of course, when she married him.
Steve (Captain America) and Rachel (Diamondback). That's another great hero/villainess pairing. Their chemistry was so hot that it practically burned up the page.
So it really depends, I think. When there's the possibility of redemption, as old and cliched as it sounds, villain/hero can work. I think comics is the genre that best fleshes that out, though, frankly.
