Daily Entertainment: the Odd Couples!
Do my eyes deceive me? Is there no daily entertainment up for us poor office shills who might be staring down the barrel of nothing to do (like me >.>)? We* must do something about that! And we shall!
We've talked about odd friendships. Now let's talk odd romantic relationships. Is your pup in a romantic pairing with someone you never in a million years thought they'd hook up with? Or are there other romantic relationships in game between two pups you never in a million years thought would make such a cute couple as they do?
To start: Simon Skinner and Ana Pascal. I don't know--when you consider that Ana, progressively opinionated as she is, fell for Harold Crick, an uptight IRS agent, it doesn't seem too odd that she's paired up ith a 60-year-old serial killer/supermarket manager, but the fact that said serial killer/supermarket manager is Simon Skiiner makes it odd enough.
Sarah Jane and James Bond is another one that seems odd if you don't think about it too much, but given the qualities he liked in Tracy Draco in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (namely that she's resourceful and adventurous), it's not that odd. It's just that Sarah Jane's not your typical Bond girl.
And my pups are not involved in this, but Le Chiffre/Villiers? Has no right to be as cute as it is. BUT IT IS CUTE.
Discuss!
* Not royal "we." Poster is unsure who "we" refers to, as there's only me. I think.

In my other one, though? Regulus Black was briefly dating Willow from Buffy (Season One Willow, at that). And really, the fact that he even considered it was huge.
Here, I've got a few odd relationships (that aren't so odd anymore, thanks to context) that I follow - Tom and Door, Charlie McGee and Prometheus (!!!!!), Suzi and Whistler - but that's pretty much it.
(Thing What Might Count: Game play has actually explained a canon couple to me. Morwen/Telemain feels all kinds of Last-Minute Addition in the Enchanted Forest books, but that's because the chemistry's a lot more subtle than I could grasp when I was ten. It comes out in the threads, though, rare as they are.)
