Sunday Indulgences
Sundays, as decreed on ye moste importante pimpe schedule, are henceforth your official self-pimping days. Every Sunday I shall make a post inviting you to shamelessly declare your awesomeness. Let us, in these days, remember the wise words of
gethenian:
That's right, you heard Ven: if it's awesome enough for you, it's awesome enough to pimp. So pimp yourself, me hearties!
![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
And if I hear of anyone refusing to participate because they don't think their RP is good enough, I shall crawl through the internet wires, wriggling like an underworldly grub, and I shall bite you. If it's important enough for you to play, and if you enjoy it, it is automatically good enough to be pimped. Because the whole POINT of RP is that you enjoy it. If what you enjoy is sueing it up with angstariffic pr0n-mongering whatever the crud, WHATEVER. Pimp. Brag. Boast. Fangirl. Flail. Tell us all about why you're awesome. You should think you're awesome. If you don't, why the hell are you RPing?
That's right, you heard Ven: if it's awesome enough for you, it's awesome enough to pimp. So pimp yourself, me hearties!

First: James Bond of the British Secret Intelligence Service meets Control, head of British Secret Intelligence (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/18762357.html?thread=790504565#t790504565), who has a bad habit of, er, openly admitting as much. I took one look at Control's userinfo, beamed, thinking "HOLY SHIT, THIS THREAD IS GOING TO BE AWESOME." It did not dissappoint.
The in-progress thread is between Bond and Lissar (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/18766437.html?thread=790564965#t790564965), who make rather curious and cute friends. Lissar, trying to save her Chevy, is looking at camshafts. Bond, who loves cars, wants to help. After Lissar mentions the garage, Bond gets a bit curious. They are down there now, with access to of lots and lots and lots of cars, some of which Bond may want to drive. Let's see what happens. >D This thread has the special honor of making me do research on what sort of Bentley Timmy Jimmy drove before it got wrecked in Moonraker (no, it didn't involve Jaws).

My other highlight of the week I don't feel comfortable posting yet, since it's for a collection of canon!OOMs and will hopefully be seeing air time soon enough. However, I have to mention it for a v. simple reason:
It's a Cosmo OOM. And LJ, in its infinite wisdom, gave it '666.html' as a signifier. I KID THEE NOT. (And in my estimation, Cos isn't really that dastardly. But still.)

Yesterday, Teja encouraged an unhappy lost little mini!Toki;
today, Teja had a deep conversation about love and friendship with the usual Toki.

Also, an almost mythical Scandinavia for both of them. Teja is, honestly, a cardboardy Victorian age charrie; Toki is cartoon. Something clicks there.
From all this brainy meta, some amazingly believable, heartfelt and deep threads emerge that help to define the characters of both pups much better. For plottish reasons, Teja needed to say the things he said to Toki.-

And that answer is a resounding "Probably never."
But still, he's a lovely character, and I agree wholeheartedly on the Heavy Metal mythos and how bloody THICK their respective canons are with the overall gist and... I want to say flavor, of darkness, blood, ash, and destruction, and both have the "Um... so what happened again?" end-ish to them that makes you want to go figure out more.
I'm actually rather interested in seeing if there's any fully translated copies of Teja's canon for my perusal.

He does that canonically, in what would be considered blaringly obvious subtext if it wasn't 19th century canon; and even then -- well. It's in the part where Teja tells Witichis about his parents. He goes out of his way, argumentatively, to randomly say how much he loves Totila:
Note how coy that expression 'The one whom all love' is! **grins**
As for admitting to having had a thing with Totila, not just for him -- I am sitting on that one, same as in the case of Adalgoth. The subtext is massive, but I'm not deciding anything about those two characters, or writing backstory fic, or anything, much as my brain's full of ideas for all that. Thing is, I don't want to decide anything now that would influence a Milli!version of Totila or Adalgoth; and I'm not giving up hope to have one or the other, one day. When somebody apps one of them, then I'll discuss ideas with the mun, and write backstory fic while the pup is in the apping process. There is one thing that I've come off the fence about, subtext-wise, as that wouldn't influence another potential Milli!charrie much, but even that's sekrit and may or may not ever be admitted to.
Yes, there is, and it's affordable and available. That fact helped with my decision to app him for Milliways -- it would be kind of hard to ever convincingly get people to read a canon that's only available in 19th century German. And he would never, never ever get canon-mates; and I knew he'd start pining for Adalgoth and Totila at some stage...

I am personally happy with my latest OOM for Doc and the thread with Jack that inspired it.
(And there's another OOM I cannot wait to unveil between Doc and Billy and the gang, yay canon! But it has to wait a bit longer but soon!)

Also because I very rarely do plots or arcs or whatever, and now I am! Maybe this will motivate me to put my other characters through their canon.

(And his long chat with Teja, even though it's got its own post, because it was all kinds of fun.)

First off, we have Dani
PhantomFenton meets Mary Jensen. Because there's just something about one half-ghost girl trying to help another ghost girl that makes one go "awww". And this comes after her meeting with the Dread Pirate Bluetail earlier in the day.And at the other side of the Bar, Lily says goodbye to James.

They still don't rot your teeth as badly as Toki and Stephanie do, though. (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/18766631.html?thread=790610471#t790610471)
I'm particularly fond of Tiny!Toki's threading with his future bandmate and otherthings-mate, Skwisgaar. It shows (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/18754922.html?thread=789978730#t789978730) a side to Skwisgaar that almost makes you want to hug the big ol' ass. Almost.

Miniver performs two songs for Pckles (http://cheevy.livejournal.com/15751.html) to show him what he can do with that thar guitar.
They're good songs. I know, because I wrote them myself. One of them was linked to the bar as an OOM containing a lot of introspective backstory-shaped stuff, but the other was not. So go read it.
Also, tonight Miniver and Toki did some jamming (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/18766631.html?thread=790614055#t790614055) that ended in a drinking contest, which Miniver lost. He will therefor be appearing in the bar tomorrow in a truly silly outfit after I finish work. :D!
And for a change, because I DO play other characters (really!!!), Therem meets Guppy at a time that is probably not the best (http://community.livejournal.com/milliways_bar/18614589.html?thread=782383165#t782383165), but it gaveme a lot of lovely opportunities to play with the intricacies of Therem's culture. Also, to let him be a bit parental.

First up, a thread that's breaking my heart for reasons even I don't fully understand but I am loving nonetheless: Mary Anne and Plourr.
On a much lighter note, there's also Mary Anne and Kit. "Do you have any problems with being German?"
Also hi-larious, after more than two years, Mary Anne and Ace finally meet. It may be short and sweet (like cookie dough!) but it makes me giggle like a fiend.
Oooh, ooh, one more thing! Mary Anne and Dworkin because their threads also manage to warm my heart and be full of batshit crazy at the same time.

I'm having a lot of fun with Dennis and Howl, though it's still on-going; Gwynne brings out the best in me. Also, I'm just having a lot of fun with Dennis in general; I have another Dennis-thing that I really love and want to link, but it hasn't been finished or posted to the bar yet, so it will have to wait for another day!
Hawkeye and Brennan, in which Hawkeye makes the acquiantance of a beautiful woman studying a human skull. Hawkeye's one of those characters where I (literally) headdesk repeatedly while playing him, because I think it's terrible and I'm screwing everything up, and I have to come back the next day and reread to see if it's any good. I think this one's any good; it entertains me, anyway!

I am vastly proud of writing that yesterday (or the day of this post) because it's just so different from the sorts of things I usually write.
