Daily Entertainment.

Do your pups have siblings? Do they know each other well/get along/spectacularly NOT get along?

Sallie: Nope.
Mal: I have thought once or twice about giving him a sibling of some sort. Jury's still out.
SARAH: Nope.
Delysia: Undecided.
Ned: Nope.

494 does! In that twisted, made-in-a-lab, my-unit-is-my-family, oops-my-genetic-twin-is-a-serial-killer kind of way.

Prometheus: ahahahaha. Yes.

Josh Lyman had a sister. See: Season 1 for Survivor Guilt issues.

Matt Albie, I want to say he's got siblings. Just because those would be awesome bickering scenes.

Scar: see also, ahahahaha. But not for long!

Mr. Gumby is a bit like spores. I don't even know or want to contemplate. He certainly has many... iterations.

Lincoln has... the guy he was cloned from?

Satine and Gromit, I'm not sure yet. Satine was either an orphan or left home very young, and Gromit... well, he left home very young.

Good grief, I have so many pups. *facepalm*

Mel: Has a sister, ten years older than her, raised her on her own. Erin wasn't a great 'parent', and Mel doesn't really respect authority, so while they love each other very much, their relationship was catastrophic and MEl ran away from home. Now they're technically 'adults', they're working on it, but it's very very hard.
She had a brother, but he died a long time ago. And good riddance, really :-P

Will: Would never have left England had he any siblings at all, I'm sure of that. While it's probably (I don't read fanfic) a source of great Mary-Sue that he left a younger sister behind in his search for his father, it's just OOC - he would never abandon a duty like that.

Francesca - sometimes really wishes she didn't.

Death - uh, does the Death of Rats count?

Karolina - all the Runaways kids are only children. It's central to the plot of the comic.

Both Karolina and Mel have people that might be considered adopted family- the other Runaways, Steph or Indy, for example.
Karolina would never use the word, because family is more or less meaningless to her - it's friendship that counts. OTOH, Mel considers family so tight and loves so passionately, that 'sister' and 'brother' are the only words she has to describe how much she loves those two.

I could also go off for a long time on my elsegame characters, *sigh*

They get along pretty well and Robin is very protective of her.

Sam: AHAHAHAHAHAHAH.

Well.

Where to start...

Molly has siblings, and they're called Gert, Chase, Old Lace, Nico, Victor and Karolina. And Xavin, later.

Suzie Costello's a single child, very definitely. So's Edna - can you imagine that two-legged ego with a sibling?
sdelmonte: (Default)

[personal profile] sdelmonte 2008-06-04 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Kirk: The only one with siblings canonically. Jim's older brother George Samuel Kirk Jr. - who Jim and no one else called Sam - was quite close to Jim. He was a scientist instead of an explorer but did live on a colony world. Sadly, he was killed in the first season episode "Operation: Annihilate!" as was his wife. We never met him but the corpse was "played" by Shatner for one or two seconds, wearing a false mustache.

Knox - His older brother Eliot is a doctor in Chicago. He's eight years older than Alex Knox - Eliot was born a year after their father came home from WWII, Alex a year after their father came home from Korea. The age difference kept them from ever being close, as did the difference on outlook. Alex talks to his brother very rarely, and barely knows Eliot's wife and two kids.

O'Dell - He has a brother and a sister, both younger, but I haven't really come up with any details yet. And again, he's not close to them.

Gibbs - He is the third of seven children to survive childhood, the second of four boys. He hasn't seen any of his siblings in years, though he believes that one of his brothers is a successful merchant sailor somewhere in the American colonies. He used to write often to his sister, but lost touch when he went pirate.

As Debi notes, sometimes people end up with folks in their lives who are like brothers or sisters despite a lack of blood relation. Clearly, Kirk regards Spock and McCoy that way - he even refers to Spock as a brother in the (otherwise worthless) Star Trek V.

And in Milliways, Knox thinks of Rachel Grey as a sister.

Eric - Nope! Closest thing he had was his best friend Chris. You know, the one he accidently used as a human shield.

Stark - Nope! He's got, like, no biological family at all.

Barney - Yep! He gets along very well with his black gay and married brother (played by Wayne Brady).

Hercules - Golly, does he has siblings. About a metric ton of half siblings, because Zeus is, like, the worstest womanizer that ever womanized. See the family tree for proof (http://ludios.org/greekgods/).

He gets along with a lot, even though many are jealous that Herc is, well, the favored son. Especially Ares.

Ares and Herc are terrible enemies. Seriously. Even in Marvel canon. Especially recently.

Wow, none of my main characters have siblings.

Shulkie: No, although Bruce Banner (the Hulk) is her first cousin and they were close enough to be considered faux siblings when they were both children.

Lockjaw: Unknown, though highly doubtful. If he does have brothers and sisters, one wonders what it was that made the Inhumans let him walk through the Terrigen Mists. But his past is shrouded in so many mysteries that I suspect we'll never know.

Kendra: No. Most of her immediate family is dead anyway.

And none of other pups that I'll be bringing in have siblings. Huh.

Porthos- Again, no.

Allan A Dale- one brother, Tom.

Lucas- Nope.

Bleys- A...lot. There are: Osric, Finndo, Benedict, Eric, Corwin, Deidre, Fiona, Brand, Llewella, Caine, Julian, Gerard, Flora, Random, and somewhere along the family tree, Delwin, Sand, Dalt, and Coral. Plus 47 other unknown children.

Brand- See above, please. But, as a note, Fiona and Bleys are his full blood siblings. The others are half.

Atton Rand: One living younger brother, Lyman, who's rather distant and estranged, on account of various Fun Things, like being seperated for fifteen to twenty years, feelings of betrayal on Lyman's part, a lot of anger, and the fact that Lyman disapproves of Atton being a criminal, whereas Atton disapproves of Lyman being a zoologist (he feels that zoology is a lame science). They've sort of reached the point where they get along, but in a very awkward sort of way. He had four more younger siblings, and a lot of cousins that were like siblings, but they're all dead by way of nuclear missiles.

Dalek: Hahahahahahano.

Teddy: No.

Seamus: A younger sister, who he gets along with well enough.

Amatsu-Mikaboshi: Large, large array of siblings, most of which are only sort-of-siblings. Very varying degrees, here, but safe to say that he's probably the black sheep of the family. Millicanonically, he and Tsukuyomi hate each other with great hate.

Victor Mancha: Sort of an only child, sort of has siblings. It really depends on if you count other creations of Ultron - If you do, then Vision is a sort of half brother.

Ray: Has a non-canon sister who, after several years of varying levels of discomfort and disapproval, has finally largely come to terms with her brother's reality being the dominant one. (The Ghostbusters novelization gives him an older brother and a younger sister, but I never read it. The cartoon gives him no siblings at all.)

Harry Wells: Three brothers, one of whom the family doesn't talk about due to his financial antics with the Wells grandfather's retirement savings. Also non-canon, as his only statement about his family in Dog Soldiers is to indicate that he hasn't got a sister.

Annie Wells: Unspecified number of non-canon sisters.

Belar: Seven brothers: Aldur, Nedra, Torak, Issa, Chaldan, Mara, and Eriond. Torak's dead. The others're just fine. Belar and Aldur get along great, Belar and Mara have always been close, and Belar and Eriond've only really known each other for twenty or so years now, if that. Belar and Nedra don't get along at all, Belar's still kind of surprised that Chaldan was capable of pulling the stick out of his ass after twelve thousand years, and Issa's always been kind of weird. Belar and Torak did not get along at all canonically and there has been no change in that since Milliways.

Whistler: Non-canon sister. They dont' talk much, but he doesn't talk much with his family in general anyway.

Ironhide: Not that I know of, although 'sibling' means something somewhat different to Cybertronians. Like most mechs, he was incepted into a cohort, which is a group of mechs organized around the same purpose and functions. They fulfil the role of family, educators, and Scout troop/military unit.

Bumblebee: See Ironhide.

The Great Librarian: Yithians reproduce by spores and are raised in group creches. They don't do familial relationships.

Gordon Freeman: I gave Gordon an older brother named Jay with whom he gets along fairly well, although they don't talk much. Email and letters, yeah, talk, no.

Romana: Doubt it. She acted very 'single child' when she came on the show.

Wedge: Yes. Um. He is not happy about this situation.

Scaramouche: Not that she knows of, but Globalsoft controls all.

Robin Hood: ... I've seriously thought about it. No siblings canonically, but... It could be fun.

Glorfindel: Probably. At least one. Not that he'd talk about him/her. I'd think things got a bit icy once he left to follow the group over to Arda. Dying and going to Mandos probably didn't help much.

Moiraine: Yes. She is the youngest in her family. She has/had two older sisters, Anvaere and Innloine (and they have some number of kids, which means she's an aunt as well); they got along okay. She also had a half-brother, Taringail. He's dead now after attempting to orchestrate the assassination of a queen (his wife). Moiraine didn't mourn him.

Jack Sparrow: Isn't saying.

Sam Winchester: Um, yes. That'd be Dean.

Kim Ford: Yes; one younger sister, Meghan. They got along well before Fionavar. Things have been strained since, but are improving.

Frank Black: Yes, a younger brother, Tom. They get along well enough at present.

Despil and Jurt are half brothers, with Jurt being the one who keeps trying to off him. Fun stuff.

Eirene: Yes. A lot. Her father is a canonical manwhore. Millicanonly, the Fates and the Hours are her full sisters, and everyone else is at half-sibling status.

AC: For comics canon, one half brother, with whom he does not get along. Smallville hasn't mentioned much about his background.

Winston: Millicanon - one sister, who is married with a son.

Momiji has one sibling, his sister Momo. At this point in canon, he's never spoken to her and only seen her in brief glimpses and photographs, since she was born post-his getting kicked out of his parents' house. Nevertheless, he thinks she's awesome and adorable in a really sad sort of way.

Ganymede has, if memory serves, two brothers, one of whom actually founded Troy proper. I imagine they got on decently but that he didn't have much of a close connection to either one.

Technically, whether or not Dahlia Malloy has siblings isn't known, I guess. I'm betting no, however, from what we've heard about her family, thus far.

Enzo Matrix: One sister and one, um, clone-original. Enzo and Dot have, obviously, always been extremely close, as she mostly raised him. His relations with Matrix were a bit strained at first, but they get on all right now and consider themselves brothers for practical purposes.

Munch: A younger brother, Bernie who owns a funeral parlor.

Speedle: Canonically has a younger brother who is at least a dozen years younger than he is.

Rennes: Nothing mentioned about family in-canon. If he did have any, Rennes probably wouldn't talk about them anyway.

Molly W.: She is an only child.

Lily: Everyone should know this one - two brothers, both older: James Sirius and Albus Severus.

Klara: It's unknown if in-canon Klara left behind any siblings when she moved from Germany to America. Millicanonically, she is an only child and her mom was a widow.

Smellerbee: Her siblings are Pipsqueak, the Duke, Jet and the rest of the Freedom Fighters (in my mind she's dating Longshot, so he wouldn't count as a "sibling").

Dani: Well, Danny is either her cousin or her older brother or her "father", depending on how you look at it.

...Most of my headvoices are only children, actually. Don't have enough backstory re: Larry or Cosmo to say definitively about them.
(The loudest headspace occupants of late are original characters, and the last two of three children; all I know about their older brother is he died in World War I. The two I've been working with are very close.)

Ianto and 1941!Jack are both only children. (Until canon shows otherwise, and given that Canon!Ianto has only ever mentioned his father I think the odds are low in that direction.)

Green!Jack, of course, has his mother/sister/daughter/lover Sheela-na-Gig, who is currently, in-game, a willow tree in a UK forest somewhere. Mm, mythology's fun. And the second half of the question: yes, they adore each other. She did have two babies for him, after all.

Did I mention that mythology is fun? Of course, you could look at it as less siblings and more male and female aspects of the same nature god . . .

Tower has lots of siblings -- all the other tarot cards!

Asar-Suti: no.

Teja: canonically, no. The man that Procopius (main historical source for Teja's canon) mentions as Teja's brother, Aligern, becomes Teja's cousin in canon, for plot reasons.-

Kaylee: Not canonically. Millicanonically, she has two older brothers, one of whom she hasn't seen since she was a kid. The middle one she ran into on accident about a year ago. It, er, didn't go well.

Dale Cooper: Quasi-canonically -- it's in the Autobiography, which I've taken as Millicanon, and which was written by a writer for the show -- he has a (much) older brother who was a draft dodger and (Cooper is pretty sure) is now running around South America somewhere.

Bobby Singer: Canon hasn't said, and until it does, I'm not going to confirm one way or another.

Angela Petrelli and Claude Raines: See above.

Bill Adama: Spoilers for Caprica in whitetext! Yes. Yes he did. Yes she was special. At least according to the storyline spoilers that have leaked.
