I had my 25th B-day on Thursday, 5 June. Go me. I went out to eat with the Mumster - lovely Thai restaurant - and on Saturday I had a B-day party at a friend's place.

I got a LAPTOP from two of my buddies/acquaintances, only one of which I actually even KNOW. And the Star Trek geek in me triumphed most spectacularly when one of my friends got me a ST:TOS MANGA from the States. Shinsei Shinsei - Star Trek: THE MANGA

Not kidding you, folks.

We had cake, watched anime and a movie, and there was much rejoicing. The end.

Batya's B-day is July 10. As it's her 33rd - and thus she is becoming an adult by the reckoning of the hobbits - we are planning a party where she will make like a hobbit and give everyone gifts. (Interestingly, July 10 is also Esther's birthday, which is wicked cool.)

Three of my current pups don't have canon birthdays, and I'm not inclined to make one up for them. I even suspect that with the switch from Old Style to New Style calendars during Gibbs' lifetime, the poor state of recordkeeping, and his lack of awareness of things like dates, he doesn't know when his birthday is, either. Kirk's B-day was in March - it's actually Shatner's birthday and went from fanon to canon for Kirk over the years - but he's not big on birthday parties.

\o/ The hobbit plans sound like a blast.

*ponders* Mal has a canon birthday of September 30, 2486 (9/30 being the date 'Firefly' premiered on FOX) but I millicanoned it earlier (August 30) before the movie came out. SARAH doesn't have one, neither does Delysia or Sallie. Ned can be worked out to be a summer baby based upon careful calculation of timespans from the narration in Pushing Daisies, but there's no exact dates ever given. Because the writers hate me.

I pay no attention to IC birthdays, because I am lazy and I can't figure out how the calendar works in several of my characters' universe, anyway. (Star Wars, why so confusing?) As far as I can remember, none of mine have canonical birthdays.

My 21st birthday was a month ago! The original plan was to spend the day at graduation ceremonies, then a nice dinner, then going to a bar with my friends, but somehow, that turned into searching for a missing roommate, packing all of the stuff that nine roommates didn't take care of before they left, staying behind to pack while my friends went to a frat party, and then playing nurse to a roommate who over-imbibed at the party, til three in the morning.

If a pup is originally born five thousand plus years ago, waaaay before Christ, what with all the calendar shifting and all, how do I calculate her birthday? That question has plagued me with Hawkgirl for the last two years.

I don't think that She-Hulk's birthday date has ever actually been mentioned in canon. If I ever do have a birthday party for Shulkie, it will involve many nubile men taking off their clothes, lots of singing, lots of alcohol, and probably an inspired legal briefing taking place somewhere in the proceedings.

I have a solstice birthday. My birthday is the last day of summer, which always somewhat depresses me.

In other news, posted mostly for Alex's benefit, this is freakin' awesome: a fan-made film of Green Arrow: The Long Bow Hunters. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpM7UCB2snk) The use of music and the credits at the beginning are outstanding. THESE guys should be in charge of the new Green Arrow film instead of the people making CINEMAX or REMAX or whatever the hell the new GA film is now called.

Watched the first couple of minutes and will watch the rest at home. Very interesting, and certainly in the Urban Hunter mode that Ollie hasn't been in since leaving Seattle. I am not hugely worried about the GA film only because David Goyer is slated to be director. For now. I would bet that once he tries to save Ollie from the High Concept script, he gets canned.

And Kendra really has three birthdays - that of her soul in the first place; that of her body; and that of the day Sheira's soul transmigrated into that body.

I've just recently Millicanoned Molly's birthday as August. Because she is so a Leo baby.

Hm. My RL birthday was in May. My Cybertronians don't have birthdays. Harry Wells' birthday is in early June. Other than that, the only birthday I can think of off the top of my head is Ray's, and that's in mid-October.

I had my graduation on Saturday, which is kind of like a birthday? I graduated from the number 1 high school in the US, so it was a pretty big party.

Mine was a few weeks back, at the end of May. My housemate took me out for Thai food! And my parents called, and my coworkers gave me candy. And then I flew out the next day to Iowa for my brother's graduation, so the family celebration was fairly minimal but it was a family gathering all the same, and I did get a pretty necklace. (I have other presents coming at some point, I'm told, whenever I make it up to my family house or my parents make it down to mine, since they weren't going to cart them along to Iowa.) It was quite an excellent birthday.

ICly... River's is vaguely coming up, in that it's August 9. (Total Millicanon, that, from back in the day of Academyplot.) So far, it seems to be alternating years whether she has a decent one or has GIANT ANGSTY PLOT on it.

Honey's we have canon for, as this is the kind of canon where you get a character's zodiac sign and blood type in a side bar JUST BECAUSE. But, uh, I can't remember what it is. I don't think any of my other current ones have birthdays; I haven't bothered for Regan or Lan, and for Piotr Marvel's timeline is all kinds of cracked-out anyhow.

My birthday's in two days! I have no terribly exciting plans. My sister's taking me for lunch at Pike Place Market because she needs to do some shopping there. Yay, practicality? And on Friday a friend of mine is throwing me a dinner party with Southern food theme. There will be bean soup and homemade macaroni and cheese.

Jack's millicanon birthday is in November, so he's got a while to go before he celebrates it again. I totally forgot about it last year.

And then there's the canon birthday which we only found out about this time last year from the "24: Debriefing" webisodes and also tends to not make a hell of a lot of sense. Kiefer Sutherland said a couple years ago that he thought Jack was the same age as KS, but the doofus forgot that by that time in the show Kim Bauer was in her mid-twenties, so it was kind of pushing how young Jack and Teri were when they had Kim.

Then for the webisodes, Jack says his birth year is the same as Sutherland's, but I guess he forgot that the series is a few years ahead of the real world, which would make Jack about 47 in S6, which is starting to get up there for the kind of stuff Jack puts his body through in the show.

As for my birthday, I'm probably going to get together with a friend in Toronto for the holiday weekend before my birthday, but as it's a Thursday, I'll probably be working at Tiny Branch for the actual day. We'll probably go out to dinner or order in or something, but nothing more than that.

They actually gain a year on New Years, yet each one of them has chosen a day of the year for their own personal celebrations. This was April's idea.

Raph chose December 21 as his. Longest night of the year and all.

Mike couldn't decide between April Fools and Halloween,...so he gets both. Seriously, do you want to be the one to tell him no?

My 24 birthday was on the 14, I got 25 bucks and the rest of my birthday plans got derailed into the majority of it being spending five days on the greyhound to spend 24 hours somewhere. (Which I knew might happen! So!)
