Oh, right. D'oh! So Alex basically gets vegan birthday cake. I wonder if they got the recipes from Bake & Destroy or the Veganomicon, which seem like appropriately post-apocalyptic recipe sources.

Now I'm trying to remember if eggs survived in the Age of Apocalypse time line and if the mutants therein were forced to eat eggless gateau.
