Hello, Milliways!

As of this post, there has been an -- incident, upstairs. Now, the fire was contained to just the one room, but (with permission from all of the appropriate parties) the smoke alarm and sprinkler system in the rooms around have been set off.

What this means for you:
If you want, you can say that your character's room was one of the ~~lucky~~ ones nearby, whether or not they were actually present when the sprinklers went off. If you want, you can say that your character and/or their stuff didn't get soaked, but that the chaos down the hall was noticed. You mention in an EP that there seems to be a group of wet and cranky people in the bar. It's a silly crackplot, as big or small as it's made; it's entirely opt-in, and very easy to ignore, if that's what you want to do!

But being mean to characters is totally fun.
