Anyway, Translation party takes an English phrase of your choosing, translates it into Japanese, back into English, then Japanese, and so on until it reaches a circle of equilibrium.

I tries it with a phrase from Mel's canon: Come on guys, take me on, hurt my world, I dare you. and ended up with a phrase that should be from Claire's canon: They are, in my world, it is disadvantageous to the company.

Meanwhile Renee's Find out who you are so you can see who you can be becomes an endless cycle of if satisfied, you can find somebody and If you satisfied, you can find somebody, neither of which Renee would be please to hear.

Strong Bad's "I am still awesome" just becomes "Greater still."

"People have hope because their eyes cannot see death" (Rukia's poem for the start of the second BLEACH collection) eventually becomes "For more information, please to attract the attention of the dead."

That last one is amazing, hocrap.

And an eerily apt summary of Bleach (or of White Wolf's upcoming Geist: The Sin-Eaters).

That's just awesome coming from Rukia. I can almost see her holding up a sign that reads just that.

And Ichigo's observation from volume 1, in the mostly literal "We fear what has no form" cooks down to "We are scared."

Babelfish turns the original Japanese, 我らは　姿無きが故にそれを畏れ (warera wa sugatanaki ga yue ni sore o osore) into "As for us there is no form, but in reason that fear", which achieves equilibrium as "Some people worry."

"You can't look dignified when you're having fun" = "If you do not have the dignity, he sees him."

Uh.

WAIT THIS IS EVEN BETTER:

"May the Force be with you." = "October 5 power, to please"

"May the Force be with you." = "October 5 power, to please"

Meanwhile, the best Supernatural credo I could think up, "Saving people. Hunting things," turns into what might be the beginning of an episode of House: "They said, 'Please save Hunter.'" (A fun intermediary step: "Saving people. It's hunting.")

Awww, Dumbledore's quote "Fear of a name increases fear of a thing itself" never reaches equilibrium. It just goes into a death spiral of "growing interest in the name of fear" and "increasing interest in the name of fear"

Snape's quote "The Dark Arts are many, varied, ever-changing and eternal" found equilibrium with "ZADAKU art, and changes in the past, forever."

Voldemort finds equilibrium as well with "Greatness inspires envy, envy engenders spite, spite spawns lies" which becomes "Despite the irritation of envy, this great, envy engenders spite, will be generated."

Okay then! Moral of story - talking about evil leads to equilibrium and absolutely no sense at all!

Turned into and it even said that didn't even make much sense in English. "Oh my, are under the black flag of death of a brave pirate pirates."

For Tumnus-"How would it be if you came and had tea with me?" became "Why did I drink tea with him?" which also still works.

Then for Sameth since its harder to find quotes I like for Will and Demeter.
"That's about the only thing I'm really good at. Making things." turned into "The only problem I have and I think it is a good thing. Production."

Felix's canon doesn't have a lot of memorable lines, so the first thing I came up with doesn't really have anything to do with him. "Now you face the true might of the Fire Clan of the North!" becomes "Family of fire, it could face the truth of North Korea!" after only a couple of repetitions.

Felix's canonmate Alex actually has some of the best lines, so I put in his "I wish you would stop using your Mind Read on me. Trust me, my thoughts will become all too clear in time." The result: "I want to stop using me to read your mind. Trust me, I think that was it."

I decided to also put in Kain's totally arrogant taunt to Barbariccia, "You're not the only one who can ride the wind." The journey was actually much more interesting than the result ("Here, the only person in the wind."), including such gems as "You are the only person that can ride the wind" and "Here, we are the only people on the wind."

Ahahaha! There's a random nameless NPC in Golden Sun who, at one point, says "If you even come NEAR me I'll bite your nose off!" With a comma after "me" that becomes "If you get closer, I'll bite off your nose!", but without a comma it's rendered as "I almost hit myself!"

Verity's I'm just a saleswoman. I got a boss like everybody becomes I was open. I was like the boss of you.

Which is made all the more delightful when you take that to its logical conclusion. Namely, Sam Winchester retorting that she is not the boss of him.

But she was only LIKE the boss of him.

The most obvious line from my canon consists of sentence fragments, so choice of punctuation makes a big difference:

And ends up as "I'll give a kiss of greeting." OH DEAR.

#2: "Flamingos are mean. They bite." --> "This is a flamingo. They can do anything." WORLD DOMINATION SOON TO COME.

The line from Adventure! describing Annabelle is this: "Pretty as a picture, mad as a hatter, and, right now, all that stood between Max and me living and Max and me dying in a vacuum."

It ends up: Center, the painting is my life, my death is the biggest of all the most vacuum. *ROFL*

Vehicles of all, I'm stabbing in the neck of this man. That! Gaucherie!

For Heroes: The original comment was Tracy asking Nathan about Meredith and HRG: "Ok, let me get this straight: She is the biological mother of your illegitimate daughter, and he's her adopted father?" That turned into "[OK], I will be straight: I'm her boyfriend and her father, mother and daughter, illegal, or What? Or biological?"
Well the original quote was weird too, and the latter almost had me expect brother's cousin's former roommate get stuck in there somehow.

Tried it with one of Draco's comments, but I think it might have broke it. Oh no, just delayed it into something seeming more perverted.

"You'd better hurry up, they'll be waiting for 'the Chosen Captain'-- 'The Boy Who Scored'-- whatever they call you these days." turned into:
"I'm in a hurry, I want to go to Korea captain''to - 'boy' - many of these people."

Kate's quote was during Civil War crossover with the Runaways:
"Let's see how fast he is with enough tranq in him to bring down an elephant" became "Fast enough, to him, let's look at the elephant tranq is less."

Oh, Iiiiiii'm my own grandpaaaaaa...

Inexplicable and yet oddly appropriate: "Everything I have is right here" becomes "I'm here."

From one of Alex's canons: "You Klingon bastards, you killed my son!" becomes "My son has failed to kill a Klingon!" ... which is ... also true.

Aaaaand the first couplet of a famous Dark Tower rhyme becomes: "For more information about the length of this round, please see the bottom of a giant turtle! He is to open the shell of the planet."

Fakir's catchphrase is, more or less (as it's already a translation from the Japanese), Those who accept their fate find happiness; those who defy it, glory.

Translation Party renders it as Wealth and happiness, in some cases, for the glory, the search? This doesn't work at all.
