introduction and basic plotting things

Man, I'm used to rping on LJ but I've never been in a game that has so many communities. I hope this is the right place to do this.

I'm Mel and I'm bringing Shori from Fledgling: A Novel to the bar. It's a novel (obviously), the last one written by the awesome Octavia Butler. Shori is part of a race known as the Ina. In the book, the Ina are the inspiration for all vampire stories and because of that Shori has a few interesting abilities.

For one, if you interact with her she can smell pretty much... well, everything about you. For example, in the book she goes to one of her humans and can smell the person that the human had sex with hours before even after taking a shower. If you're uncomfortable with the idea of her knowing that much about your character go ahead and IM me (TheAngstMonkey) or send me a message via her inbox and I'll say that for whatever reason she can't. Otherwise, I might ask for you to let me know what she would be able to smell and sense off your pup.

Also, if your character is a male vampire there's the possibility for some kind of hilarious interaction but it's totally up to you if that happens (info for that can be found on her profile). If you're the "walking corpse" kind of vampire that might not be as possible but I'm open for anything, pretty much.

Hello!

Really all you need is miliways_bar for In-character and ways_back_room for out of character. It's against the game rules to have any in-character events that aren't at least linked to the first, and it's contrary to general game etiquette to post an out of character thing without a heads up for the affected people in the back room.

ANYWAY.

It is absolutely fine to smell anything and everything about my characters - including the fact that Melaka Fray is sharing a bed with someone who isn't human and has the WEIRDEST PREGNANCY EVER.

Lol. Yeah, usually most games have an IC and an OOC game, but this one is set up a little differently than others I've been in so I was worried. Plus, the general new game jitters.

Well...

Michealangelo (mnt_mike, who is a turtle in a human body and smells a little bit like one, is carrying the baby of Bar - the wooden thing you order your drinks from - and Captain Jack Sparrow. The baby isn't human. Mike smells mostly human.

Mel slayer_fray, who shares Mike's bed (with or without sex) also doesn't smell fully human. And what she smells off is really tasty to vampires. How it'll affect Ina is up to you.

She'll probably smell really tasty to Shori too, but claimed which means that Shori will avoid temptation to bite her.

Seriously, though, welcome!!! I play Tom Riddle (who smells of magic!), Bela Talbot (human), and Ingress from Neverwhere (who is a human and has a Companion of Valdemar to hang out with, so she'll have the scent of horse). Oh, and Mojo Jojo sometimes (who smells of Ape, and not monkey, kthxsbye).

If you need any info on what the grounds look like, important features in bar, etc. the back room should have tags to check out. Or ask me! I've been around a looooooong time.
