 Many apologies for folks I am threading with, work is being slightly crazy after being really slow for the longest time. And let me tell you nothing is more fun than applying the same extensive changes to five different 100+ page manuals. Lucky me.

I don't want to drop the threads I have going but I likely won't get back to them until this weekend (for a tag or two) or next week. If that is too long a wait let me know and we can call it faded, though as I said before I'm not asking for fades, just patience. This affects Ben Grimm, Jessica Drew, and Julie Finster.


And speaking of Julie Finster (fiss84  ), part of her character is that she suffers from insecurities regarding her powers and her likelihood of becoming a successful hero. This stems from her power set being very common, so common in fact that there are 83 others with her powers. In canon they are referred to as FISSes (Flight, invulnerability, super strength, super speed) but we would likely call them flying bricks.

Anyway, I bring this up as I was going to have Bar start giving her comics of successful FISSes to encourage her. This of course runs the risk of canon punching so I want to give those muns with pups the chance to say, "No don't give her any comics from my character please."

I honestly haven't looked too closely at the cast list but the FISSes that come to mind are Clark Kent and Kara Zor-El from Smallville (obviously Julie would be reading the DC comics versions of these characters), Wonder Woman and Super Boy from DC comics and She-hulk from Marvel (though she doesn't fly). I will be giving her other characters to read (unless pups from that canon request me not to) and will not single out Milliways patrons. In fact if you can think of any flying bricks I'd love the recommendation!

Julie should talk to Sameth at some point as he has some not so different insecurity issues.

Also in terms of our threads, I'm quite good with slow, we're probably nearing a fade point with Dem and Thalia and the OOM is off in happy slowland.

I hope the changes to the manuals go quicker than you expect since that kind of work always seems to feel like it takes forever.

It happens with some pups. I found what helps is revisiting canon or suddenly they'll just be awake. Headvoices are tricky things.

Honestly today I just want to crawl away and not do things so I"m proud of myself for managing groceries.

I'm kind of stuck with her PB again. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so visual a person. I'm leaning towards just giving up on the short hair punk look and go with a young Jaimie Alexander (if I can find them) or Maggie Castle.

Or, if I stick with the punk look, I might go with Chibi from The Birthday Massacre or the actress who played Ramona Flowers though I'd have to play with photoshop for her hair and I have no idea how that will end up looking.

PBs are really hard. I tend to be lucky or have other people go they would work. Maybe put up a poll on your journal to see what other people think or even try a few different ones and see if one works.

Flying Brick is such an awesome comparison.

Isn't Ms. Marvel (from Marvel) a flying brick? I seem to remember that Rogue's flying brick powers came from her. Gladiator (the one from the Shi'ar Empire) is a Flying Brick, I think he can fly through space unharmed. Sentry is basically Superman with mental problems.

On the DC side, there is Captain Marvel and all the other Marvels that came from him. And maybe Wonder Woman?

Ms. Marvel and Rogue are part of my plan though I plan on creating Marvel Adventures versions, i.e. Marvel's all ages brand that's all fun and not gritty reality like the main canon. Gladiator is a good point as is Hyperion.

Well, Captain Hammer is a non-flying flying brick, buuuuut he's also a total asshole. So you probably don't want to go that route.
In terms of people she could meet in-bar, I can offer Moist (whenever I post him in again, for the not-so-great thing about unique superpowers) and/or Conflict Diamond (she's got the invulnerability thing going, but not the rest of the package). Granted, neither of them are heroes, but.

Wonder Woman has hung out on the set of her own movie in canon.

I am totally okay with stuff involving her being given out. Whee flying bricks! Also if you ever want her and Julie to talk, I would be up for that, too!

Sweet. I knew from Diana and Thalia's interactions that you were okay with WW comics being in bar but Julie actually meeting her would blow the little girl's mind. In a good way of course.

I'll have to decide when I want Julie to meet her though...don't want her to get inspired before her time in canon. = ]
