Stand in DE

Why does it feel so weird for me to not have a DE?

Anyway, let's play six degrees of separation! In case you are unfamiliar with the game, you connect two seemingly different and unconnected people in as few "steps" as possible. Since this is Milliways, let's include authors as well as character histories. But let's leave out Milliways and pup genres as that makes it too easy.

An example that occurs to me is Ben Grimm -> Deadpool (they had a team up) -> Agent X (who is a clone of Deadpool) -> Gail Simon (who wrote the comic series Agent X) -> Wonder Woman (Gail also was a recent writer for the Wonder Woman comic series). I could go even shorter by going Ben Grimm -> John Byrne -> Super Man -> Wonder Woman.

So have fun, just be sure to show your work. Or post in with a pup and have other people do the work with their pups. Just remember Milliways and genre can not be a connecting dot...unless the connection is Douglas Adam's restaurant.

If we use Mark Valley as 616 Ben Grimm's human face, then Mark Valley played a character named Joseph on Spin City in 2002. Barry Bostwick, who played the mayor of New York on Spin City, played Captain Ahab in 2010: Moby Dick, which incidentally was one of the worst versions of the story ever. Patrick Stewart played the role of Captain Ahab in a much better production of Moby Dick, thereby linking 616 Ben Grimm to Star Trek: The Next Generation; alternatively, he can also be linked to John Marston of Red Dead Redemption through Carlos Antonio, who played Captain Macey in 2010: Moby Dick and a bank employee and another character named Carlos in RDR. So, cowboys or spacemen, take your pick.

I can do better.

Michael Trucco appeared as a detective in four episodes of Castle, which starred Nathan Filion. Nathan Filion voiced Hal Jordan in Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, in which Arnold Vosloo voiced Abin Sur. Arnold Vosloo played Dr. Peyton Westlake, aka Darkman, in Darkman II: The Return of Durant and Darkman III: Die Darkman Die. Sam Raimi was executive producer on both Darkman II and III. Sam Raimi graduated from Michigan State University. Dr. Terence Doom got his computer science and engineering degree at Michigan State University.

So we now have a link between Ultimates Ben and the real-world Dr. Doom.
