*sidles in*

Yay! Shiny OOC-comm!

So, I'm [livejournal.com profile] kenovay. I've never RPed before, and I think I'm doing rather badly at the moment. *sighs, and pokes Bartleby's OOCness* I can't get the mindset of a possibly unstable American angel. If anyone has any tips, help me? Please? Or failing that, poke me every time I go OOC when I'm talking to your character. Aversion therapy might work.

Seriously? I think you're doing fine. The only times I've really noticed OOC-ness from you are when you point them out to me.

As for the mindset, I second the immersion method someone else suggested. I've read P&P something like twice a year for the past four years (although I do need to reread soon to get written dialogue better), and watched the miniseries even more than that. I'm really going more by the miniseries than the book at the moment. My rule of thumb has been that if I can envision movie!Lizzie saying it, it's decently IC.

That doesn't solve the problem of stilted language on my part, but meh. That'll come.

Erg. Video player on your computer, or video player as in VCR/DVD? If it's the latter, I think I have Dogma burned onto a CD somewhere. I could try to send it to you, if you wanted to watch on your computer.

Actually, it'd be as a DivX file. I just had it burned to a CD in data format, because it was taking up too much space on my hard drive. I'd just transfer it to you somehow online. To watch it, you'd just need to download a codec that adapts your media player to play those file formats. I think I even have that floating around somewhere still, too.

But it seems that Dogma was one of the CDs a friend borrowed from me two years ago and never returned (bastard). He's still got them, and keeps promising to send them to me, although he hasn't yet. I'll pester him again. I could have them in the mail next week if he'd just get off his duff.

Nope, it won't. I managed to set all of this up on a computer running Windows ME. If you're not familiar with that POS OS, it pretty much just looks for an excuse to crash and burn. And it survived the DivX just fine. It was even a server for an IRC download channel for a while. When the comp *did* explode, I'd been off of the movie downloading circuit for about a year already.

However, if my friend doesn't get me those discs, the point will be moot. *obsessively checks buddy list looking for aforementioned deadbeat friend*
