[ pinch-hit daily entertainment ]

Good morning, everybody! Welcome to Friday, y-e-s.

Riddle me this: Am I the only one still scrolling through this week's love meme (which: ahhh, you guys ♥!) to pepper it with more comments and wondering, Oh my goodness, I know that person, I know I know that person, but my brain is a sieve -- who do they play?

Assuming I'm not alone -- and because we've welcomed some new and older players + pups into the Milliways fold, thanks to the move -- I say this is a job for a ~roll call.~ And, of course, a chance to chat/beam/plot/plan at each other in general, and demand threads.

Comment with:

→ your name;
→ your mun journal;
→ your AIM handle/best means of contact;
→ your pups;
→ your availability; and
→ LET'S THREAD/PROFIT.

I did get kind of irritated that she was all, "We have to sing for the deer EVERY DAY!" and he's all, "Um.. don't I get a say in this?" and she essentially answers, very cheerfully, "No, silly! I outrank you!" :D:D:D:D

And in all seriousness, if she really wanted to be with him after all the baddies were defeated, she could essentially said that she holds his oaths fulfilled and releases him from her service. Then, overlooking the fact that she's a dingbat, they could've been together, either to live out their lives or to sleep until blahblah evil rises again blah. But no. He gets to wander the world for the rest of his life, and she... I don't know, she goes back into the sky to sleep until the zords are needed again? *hasn't gotten that far in the episodes yet* So however many millenia in the future, she wakes up again, and Merrick is long dead and there's no Lunar Wolf Ranger?

Yep, that's Shayla. She says so, so it's going to happen, and he gets to stand there and sigh and say to himself, "But I love her (because the writers say so) so it's okay."

And yes, that's pretty much how it works. He tells her that now, he can be with her on the Animarium, and she tells him no, that he's human and his place is on the earth, and she leaves him behind to sleep on the Animarium again, until she and the Zords are needed.

Except they destroyed the Org Heart, and Master Org, so there will be no more Orgs. So there's a pretty high likelihood that she'll never be awakened again, and after the current rangers die, the zords won't choose other rangers, so Animaria fades into obscurity as children's stories or matters of study for bird-hair guy who thinks Ancient Aliens made everything.

Somehow there will always be enough cloud cover to obscure the lake-sized, turtle-shaped chunk of land suspended above the Earth. And no one freezes to death at such high altitudes - apparently it's quite tropical. And somehow, Cole grew up with a primitive-styled Amazon tribe, with an African ape (chimpanzee) as a friend, yet had pants with a zipper, and a used a bamboo pole to control his boat, and somehow used that boat to get aaaaall the way to Turtle Cove Lake, wherever it is. >_>

Also, Merrick's flute survived 3000 years quite well for organic plant material (at least it looks like bamboo). >_>

It's a silly show, but an enjoyably silly show.

Well, I can forgive the Animarium/freezing/etcetera thing as being magic - since it was raised using magic, it just makes sense to also use magic to keep it obscured or forgotten about, and life-sustaining for the sake of the sleeping princess. But Cole getting to (land-locked) Turtle Cove in Colorado (which is where Word of God has said Turtle Cove is) with a pole raft when he started out from most likely Brazil (where there is somehow a chimpanzee)... Yeah. There are some details that you really have to forgive or your brain will break.

The way I figure it, Merrick probably made himself a new flute, though, because Zen-Aku had a flute already. They never explain how Zen-Aku came back the second time, though, what with his horn broken.
