And jam.

"Hm, I don't know about that," Cass says, kicking her feet from her perch on the table. "That'd be jammy, but it might just be jam on your egg."

"- I don't think I've ever heard the phrase 'jam on your egg' before."

[break_the_haughty]

"Really! Wishful thinking."

[alas_a_llama]

Sorrowfully: "I don't know why someone would want jam on their egg. Jam does not go with eggs. It - it is for baked goods. And trifle."

[break_the_haughty]

"Not even lava jam?" she asks gently. "It could keep the eggs fresh, you know, being preserves."

[alas_a_llama]

"Especially not lava jam," the alarmed labrador look has returned, "it - it would be ill-suited for egg use. Ill-suited."

Cass prevents herself from snickering by dint of sheer willpower, but does smile before the pokerface snaps into place. "So what do you think lava jam is good for?"

Thoughtfully: "Maybe some kind of lava and igneous rock trifle."

Cass nods, tapping her chin. "I can get behind that kind of sediment."

"Yes, I speak any language I want and they will understand perfectly and bring me what I request. And some of them have bulletholes for speed." Wryness meets wryness.

"Hmm... can you bing me a breakfast burrito? Scrambled eggs, sausage, mushrooms, cheese, potatoes," dammit Tom, stop making the narration's mouth water, "... I think that will do."

The first waitrat comes by with a tshirt. "Hey, a souvenir," Tom says with a smile.

"As far as food goes, bring me the same, if you would," Cass says to the rat. "That shirt is kind of meta. I like it. (Meta, like this conversation. These 4th wall DEs are so strange.)"

Slipping the shirt on, "Well, now that I have a shirt I think I will add orange juice to that order and eat at proper table with proper chairs."

He gets out of bed and realizes he has no shoes! Oh no! Despite this he starts tidying up the bed. "It took something this drastic to get me to come in during a fourth wall break. Every time in the past I have taken one look in the door and said NOPE."



"I don't know how pups get trapped in here so often."

It's a good thing Cass is still crouched down, because she has to put a hand on the floor to brace herself while she cackles. "What the ever-loving hell is that!"

The question is, of course, rhetorical--and asked between giggle-snorts. And speaking of rhetorical questions... "Pups appear to have little choice in the matter," she says, standing to pull out a chair with a soft scrape of wood-on-wood, "though I've never seen one show up shirtless and in bed before."

Much like the icon the newest addition to Milliways is barefoot, sporting a head of newly-shorn black curls and wearing a skirt made of neckties--all paisley, rainbow colors--with a tee shirt that says 'History Buff: I'd Find You More Interesting If You Were Dead'.

She's got a folder of sheet music in her hands as she paces, flipping pages presumably in time with her whistling the tune to Handel's Sarabande under her breath. Someone's got a flute part to learn. (She might abruptly decide to spin, so watch out if you're nearby.)

"I should thank you for putting that particular fear in Noriko's head, now she's just going to love what I do to her for Halloween," says one black-haired young woman with exactly the kind of amusingly cute-yet-psycho grin the icon shows.

"Oh my god, THE TOASTER," gigglesqueaks one young woman in a paisley necktie skirt and tee shirt.

"Am I allowed to say I love the part of your brain that agreed to that?"

"I'm gonna stick one of mine in his pocket," says one Kate with a kind of grin that indicates A) too much fun going on and B) not nearly enough calm to cover it all.

...Considering said card has the information for a social dancing group on one side and 'You're Hot, Dance With Me' on the other you miiiiiiiiight want to not let her do that.

"Oh hi Kate," Maru says. "You want to be eaten, then?"

The gentleman nearby wears his paisley necktie in a more conventional place.

"Where are you playing the flute?" he enquires, politely. "Good morning, miss."

"There are so many ways I could take that and they're all wrong," she mutters. "You haven't seen the card yet, anyway."

She'd wear hers in a more conventional place too if it didn't remind her of an especially finicky noose. Alas it does, but it looks just as good in skirt form--and that in no way stops her from the momentary squeak when she turns around and there's a Hannibal.

"...Church," she says. "Theoretically, anyway."

"Why theoretical church music?" Hannibal asks, smirking. "It's a nice and stately piece even in completely practical application."

"Church because I like the decor; theoretical because my choirmaster is wound tighter than a one-dollar watch and won't stand still long enough to tell me when I'm playing it," she says, watching Hannibal much like another person would a shark.

"And I got tired of going over the evensong music." Ayleward is a righteous kind of bitch.

"So you're going to learn it, and then spontaneous Sarabande will happen on the momentary say-so of that choirmaster?" Hannibal says. "Well, artistic tempers, I hope. Take heart, Miss ...?"
