Well, Lesgle is mumbling something about a representative civil committee of residents and frequent regulars, possibly modeled along the lines of the Paris sections established in 1789, but that's just him.
Actually, though--I know the infirmary crowd pulled together an updated list of characters that work there. Is there a recentish post listing Security pups? Characters with more-or-less official or at least well-established jobs? I'm still new and still getting surprised by exciting "Oh also there's a greenhouse and stables and someone's building a church" discoveries. (I mean, I know these things come and go and get semi-abandoned and are super handwavey and open to very loose interpretation. Should I just put up an OOC post saying hey anyone want to list stuff they've sort-of-established as being at Milliways?)
I know we've had other DE's that list the most commonly agreed upon physical features of the Bar and environs but I'm afraid I don't have a handy link. I've been meaning to talk with the Mods about introducing tags to the DEs, to allow folks to easily find certain types of themes, but I've failed to move forward on it.
Yes! Yes, thank you, that's exactly the kind of post I was wondering about. Maybe we need an update of what's still being used, unless there's been one in the last few months that I missed?
Yeah, every so often a post like that comes around (and it's probably time again)! Super useful.
The other thing is that when we moved from LJ to DW, there was an "Allpocalypse" where the bar basically got invaded by monsters and earthquakes and doom and disaster and more or less fell apart and got recreated, because why just do a journal move when you can make an Event out of it? Anyway, we took that as an excuse to sort of do a bit of housecleaning, and have some of the physical alterations that nobody'd used in years not recreated in the new version. Anything people still in Milliways actually cared about and/or used stayed, of course. But that means that there are probably still a few things in the nebulous limbo of "Do we still have this? I don't care if we do, but does anyone else...?"
Waaay back at the beginning, I was sure that since we were seeing the elements of a broader community develop - the infirmary, security, a school, even the brothel - that the game was going to be about building the actual community. It didn't go in that direction. But I would love to see a few pups push for that. I have one who would find that interesting.
I mean, that's the sort of thing Bossuet is into, being who he is. But of course there are a lot of OOC constraints, since characters get dropped and cycle in and out of use.
Which Amascut and her newly acquired band of pirates may be bringing in soon. Heehee
Other than that, my mind is drawing a blank. Things brought into Milliways tend to fall into disuse, so it is hard to think of sommething that will actually stick. Pups, though? We could always use more pups!
This! Which is why I tend to hand wave basic knowledge (once it's part of the thread) after the first thread of a first entry. There are only so many times you can run with, "Wait, what?"
Ava Wilson was drafting versions of an introductory pamphlet at one point too, IIRC, but... Ava. They were full of exclamation points and most helpful if you had a certain sense of sarcastic-and-pop-culture-y humor.
And of course that isn't to say that there can't be pamphlets, guide books, and maps available at the Bar for everyone. The place has got to be more user friendly!
I'd love to see more of the larger world within Milliways, versus anything new. I feel like we get lots of lakeside eps, some cell/infirmary Eps when needed (of course), and the occasional library, garage or stable EP. There are so many neat areas at Milliways that I'd like to see get explored more.

A quick and lazy Goolge search did find this, which seems to have some things.

ETA: I found a bunch under the "Physical Alterations" tag. If i weren't so dense at times, I would have just pointed you that way. = ]

Hank wouldn't mind there being a star observatory of some sort, even if it's just a hut with panels on the roof which open.
Is the garage big enough people can ride vehicles around? Like a mini-race track?
