I’m Jack!

As far as I know, I’m one of the youngest players in the Bar (17 when I joined up in February of 2011, 22 now). I’m about 18 months away from completing my B.S. in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology at UC Davis – from there, I’m shooting for an officer’s commission in the U.S Marine Corps, so much of my remaining time will be divided between academics, jobhunting, and general PT and recovery thereof. I’m hoping to become a helicopter pilot once I’m in so I can explore some ecotourism applications once I’m out, but at this point, anything’s possible.

I bike! I like to think I’m quite fast, but I don’t do it competitively. I only know the most rudimentary repairs and maintenance procedures, but it makes for a nice recovery from sprintwork and weightlifting on off-days. I used to cook, but these days I don’t follow recipes so much as I throw stuff in a stockpot based on what macros I need.

I also love hip-hop, and take every chance I get to torrent albums! I wouldn’t say my library’s exhaustive, but I do have a lot of big-name stuff along with some more underground artists. Name a MC, and chances are I have something of theirs. Except Lil Wayne.

I also have a steadily growing e-library of Batman/Justice League/Green Arrow/Birds of Prey comics. It’s Debi’s fault. All of it.

What time zone/when do you most often play?

I’m Pacific Standard Time, but let’s be honest, I play at odd hours. I don’t really have a set pattern, but I’m more active than usual after, say, 1700.

What type of threads are you looking for?

I’m not picky! Seriously, I play out aaaaaaall kinds of threads.

I do, however, have a marked preference for anything that could take my characters through significant development they wouldn’t otherwise get, or anything that would further explore their underexposed facets, e.g. Voodoo gaining a moirallegiance with Korra or going to the Pitt with Ellen, or Connor training with X (which will happen once I slug him through more canon!), or B.J discussing the war and its associated evils with Emcee. That kind of stuff.

What sort of threads are you comfortable playing?

Anything and everything! I’d prefer to FTB on sexual content, though – and I wouldn’t say I’m uncomfortable playing romance so much as I am rubbish at it. (Art imitating life, y’all.)

A brief intro: Thank's to Guppy-mun, I realized last night that I've been playing in Milliways (off and on) since Aug 2005. I started when I was 25, I'll let you guys do the math. I have a degree in physics and electrical engineering. My company is moving me to Atlanta, GA for a few years to pursue a graduate degree so hopefully I will be more consistently on. My reading library mostly consists of young adult novels these days. Recently I have been reading the Mortal Instrument series and the Otherworld series. Some may be more familiar with the TV show that is based on them, Bitten.

What time zone/when do you most often play?: I am currently in GMT -6 though I am about to move to GMT - 5. For the rest of the month, during the week I will most often play between 4 and 7pm (my time) and on weekends from 7am to 7pm, with occasional breaks of course.

What type of threads are you looking for?: Any really, Amanda tends to be outgoing and friendly but can also rub people the wrong way.
What sort of threads are you comfortable playing?: Socially, anything up to PG-13. Violence, R rated. Though Amanda is good at many things I am not so I have to handwave much. I don't mind working on visualizing fight scenes though I am not very good at it. Amanda does however like to spare with all sorts, she considers it good practice and I don't know about others but I am sometimes my pups puppet.

What time zone/when do you most often play?: GMT until October! I'm around basically all the time within those daylight hours, because most of my work is done on the computer and I can't resist leaving the internet on.

What type of threads are you looking for?: I have at least one very argumentative character, so chatting with people who will either push back or pointedly won't take the bait is fun. Threads in which something is decided, or accomplished, or at least one character is made to consider something new.

What sort of threads are you comfortable playing?: Basically anything, really, though I'm not super interested in very graphic sexual stuff and (hilariously, given what I've gotten myself into) I'm super rubbish at writing descriptions of fighting and physical violence.

A brief intro: Oh, what to say? Let's see - I've been a part of Milliways since 2004, I am a research scientist, and I am very fond of tea. What type of threads are you looking for?: I am open to pretty much anything from in-depth plot to sheer ridiculous fun, whether set in the bar, in one of my characters' worlds, or in one of your characters' worlds. If there's something you'd like to do, please feel free to float it by me!

What sort of threads are you comfortable playing?: I tend to avoid writing NC-17 threads and explicitly gratuitious violence. (Exceptions may occur with prior discussion, if it serves the story being told.) Otherwise, I'm probably up for it, and if not for some reason then I'll be clear and honest about it up front.

What type of threads are you looking for?: I'm pretty flexible, though I tend to like threads with some degree of direction or character development. Bossuet and Feuilly in particular are always looking for useful things to do, in Milliways or in other worlds. Bossuet is also an impulsive bad-luck magnet who loves to do dumb shit like going to the Labyrinth. And I'm kind of mentally stalled on developing plot for Gredya, since she's post-canon, so I'm happy to find stuff for her too? I love world-building and nerdiness and sending characters into other people's worlds.

What sort of threads are you comfortable playing?: I'm not very interested in explicit sexual threads, and even though I like Plot, I'm not very good at action sequences.

What sort of threads are you comfortable playing?: Pretty much anything. Tess is... well, not always nice, so tension is bound to happen. She also pushes people's buttons as a hobby. Smut will require lots of CR as her falling in love? AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Her using sex to gain a power advantage? Entirely likely but not immediately.

What type of threads are you looking for?: I like just about any kind of thread, plotty, small-talk, milliways introduction, character work. I just like people talking and seeing what happens. Also fight-threads. God I love those. My favorite are ones that have character development, or that surprise the writers, or that let us showcase different parts of pups than we usually get to. I'm having fun if you're having fun, probably, because I like when both parties are enjoying a thread and I like to work toward that.

What sort of threads are you comfortable playing?: I'm good with almost anything, included explicit violence, but not gratuitous torture. Also anything related to suicide and self-harm I prefer to address indirectly if possible. Sexy stuff will be FTB on the rare occasions it happens. Also, anything that plays off the culture and knowledge gaps between 1832 Paris and...anywhere else is fun. I do like to give my threads some sort of direction.

What sort of threads are you comfortable playing?: I am bad at writing action/fight scenes, but I love doing it all the same. Sexy times are pretty much always going to be ftb. I don't do torture or intense violence. Other than that? I also used to play roller derby until a few months ago. It's...been a transition. But it does mean I have more time for RP nowadays, so, yay?

What time zone/when do you most often play?: US Eastern. Typically, I'm around in the evenings between about 10 PM and 11:30 PM. A recent shift in work duties means I can't really tag during work hours anymore; I'll sometimes sneak tags on my lunch break, but that's not guaranteed.

What sort of threads are you comfortable playing?: Generally, I like to keep things at a soft R or below. I fade to black on anything NSFW as a matter of course. I don't do dubcon/noncon of any stripe, even FTB'd; I also prefer some warning if a thread involves discussion of suicide or self-harm. Other than that, we're good :)

A brief intro: I joined back in 2012, and then promptly moved across the country and have had some problems keeping up since. I planned on getting back into it steadily this past Spring, but Real Live - in the form of studying for certification exams - has beaten me up and taken all my free time. Once I have that resolved (likely before the summer is done, hopefully before July is done), I will be able to bring my boy, Invincible, back in for play. Until then, I'm spectating and commenting in the DEs.

What type of threads are you looking for?: Anything and everything. I do prefer something that will spur Invincible on toward being a mature person, but as canon demonstrates, even as he matures, he's still a goof.

What sort of threads are you comfortable playing?: PG-13 to R level content, really. Invincible's home canon has some pretty graphic violence, so that's a thing with him. Sexual content... I can't say I'm uncomfortable, but that's mostly lack of experience.

What type of threads are you looking for?:
Stuff which is fun! (For me to write, not necessarily for my characters). I love the opportunity to go mess things up in people's worlds (though my GMing skills are poor so I can't promise to return the favour). I love the chance to compare worlds. I love putting my pups through the emotional wringer.

I'd like to develop friendships for all my pups - especially Dinah, who has had many of her CR move on, and Skye, who is new. And I love a good romance (Dinah is currently in her canonical ship, and I plan for Korra to end up in her canonical ship, but come talk to me! All my four main characters are towards the middle of the Kinsey Scale.)

What type of threads are you looking for?: I'm up for all sorts of threads and enjoy the unexpected that happens when pups interact. Most of my pups are from other times or other worlds because I find those moments of 'I didn't expect that' or 'you understand that' wonderful. I'm trying to do more with Ivan as I've kind of stalled with him and I love chances to put pups in other worlds. Talk to me and let's see what might work out. What sort of threads are you comfortable playing?: As long as there's open communication I'm happy to do everything from conversation to fighting to sex but it has to make sense for the characters. I tend to talk a lot as I RP, explaining and clarifying why my pups are making their choices. This is because I find it interesting and it helps me figure out if its making sense to my RP partner, talk to me and let's see what's possible.

What sort of threads are you comfortable playing?: Most stuff that doesn't involve sexual violence, non-consensual sex, or significant irreversible horror. I don't write regular sex scenes either because I wouldn't know how to. Medical complaints/negligence is another trigger for me because of what I do for work; sometimes in medic threads it is necessary to simplify and adapt stuff for fiction so if you find something your pup wants to cry out as inaccurate it's best to discuss with me first.

Eriond is really non-judgmental and I'd love for him to talk to some Morally Dubious types and just... generally he won't hate anyone ever, no matter how evil. Henry Mills really needs friends, when I post him in again, and in particular I'll super want to get some other kids for him to befriend because bitty needs friends his age. Lois needs to get out more in general, could use some cross-world adventures and female friends and friends her age and just stuff. Tavi could use more friends, mostly because he needs a break; sadly, a lot of plot-heavy stuff with him is off the table due to him cleaning up after the apocalypse.
