Just popping in to give a reminder and some updates for Anna’s Advent calendar thing.

So last weekend Anna posted the info and sign up for a thing she wanted to try out this year to help celebrate the holidays. Originally a 24-day advent, it was shortened to 12 days. The project is still woefully short on volunteers, so it’s been tweaked a little more in the hopes of gaining more participation.

Tweak the 1st: It will no longer be a fic and pic event. Instead, it’s going to be a fic OR pic adventure. So, people who would like to volunteer can either write a Milliways inspired fic, or they can produce some sort of art for the event instead. Below is a new sign-up (with those who already volunteered carried over from both of the last lists), and now anyone who wants to participate can just add their name and then decide on their own which they’d like to do. This leaves it up to the person to do what they feel like, and eliminates tricky coordination between writer and artist.

Tweak the 2nd: If you volunteer you no longer have to list specifically which character you’re volunteering with. This element might’ve made some people leery, worried about promising something with one pup when there’s always a chance of that character inconveniently going silent when the time comes, or maybe some people just want to do a surprise. In whatever case, forget listing the pup/canon you’re going to write with. All that’s needed is your name to sign-up, and then you submit whatever comes to you. All that is asked is that your submission be somehow Milliways related, and hopefully winter or holiday-ish themed.

Tweak the 3rd: Eliminating the “Prompt” portion. This was originally incorporated in an attempt to give more people a chance to participate even when they couldn’t commit to writing or submitting art, but since it could be limiting those who want to sign up, and there weren’t any prompts anyways, it’s going away.

So, there you have it, folks, the new guidelines for the Advent adventure. The SFW rule still holds, and if you’d be willing to make more than one submission should the calendar fall short on slot fills just leave a note of that. It would be really great to fill out the full twelve days, so please be kind and volunteer. There is a new sign-up below, all that’s needed is a comment from you that you’re in and you’ll be added to the list.

The deadline for signing up is still tomorrow night (November 11th at 11:59PM EST), and works are due on December 8th. Details for how to submit your fabulous creations will be given closer to that date. THANKS A BUNCH, YOU GUYS! <3
