Thursday DE and IMDB flu reminder
Remember, folks, IMDB flu starts tomorrow! Let me get in a post for the first patient, and after that you guys go wild. Please put IMDB FLU in the subject lines of all fluish posts.
The DE is open for anyone who wants IMDB flu suggestions or ideas. And for those who don't: let's get some fancasting for our characters. Is there anyone you'd like to see portray your character?
(I'm terrible at fancasting, but some of y'all have great ideas.)

For Write, unsolicited
SPOILERS.
Young man who was caught belonging to the British Free Corps and is about to be hanged, but refuses to utter a word in his own defence despite having been acting as a British agent the whole time, for reasons having to do with having witnessed his father murder his mother when he was eight or so, her death being passed off as an animal attack, and using this as a way to punish his father and destroy the family's reputation.
END SPOILERS
Re: For Write, unsolicited
I am quite torn, because having Jim turn into an inspirational English teacher would also be fun. Or a lovely housekeeper with two young daughters. Or an actor who pretends to be a psychiatrist to pull a girl, and hilarity ensues. Or, y'know. Hamlet.
GAH. IMDb is torture of the best kind. Thanks for tempting me in a whole other direction, though! :D

Re: For Write, unsolicited
English teacher - Handsome Devil, an Irish film released last year.
Housekeeper - This Beautiful Fantastic, also from last year.
Actor/psychiatrist - Little White Lie, another Irish film from a few years back. You can't go wrong with an Irish rom com. :D
But if you're wanting to watch something amazing and haven't seen Pride yet - see that first. I genuinely cannot recommend it enough. Also, Hamlet will be out on DVD in a coupele of months most likely, after the BBC broadcasts it, so watch that too.
Also also, I can hook you up with Little White Lie - and I did have TBF downloaded too, but can't find where I've put it on my computer. It might be on my other one...point is, I can probs sort that out for you tto, if you like. :)
Re: For Write, unsolicited
I do have a copy of Pride, I just haven't watched it yet. I'm having a hard time with media lately that seems like it's going to be painful. I may be entirely wrong about Pride but I feel like it's one of those things I'll need to work up my courage to watch. (Hamlet, I've seen and read enough to know pretty much what to expect.)

But you're right, it is. The man's ridiculously good. :D

...oh, that's just mean.

Danny becomes Loras Tyrell, aka the Knight of Flowers, from Game of Thrones and Ahsoka becomes either Catwoman or Cheetah from DC Superhero Girls. Both options have a lot of appeal, though I am not too familiar with Loras as a character, and I am not sure how Catwoman and Cheetah are portrayed in that canon. Still, I mean to hunt Youtube for clips.
As for fancasting...
Well, Rosario Dawson has said she'd be interested in playing a live action Ahsoka Tano and I am all over that!
Sabine would be more difficult, but I'd want someone who wasn't Chinese or Japanese to play her. I don't know why, but she reads as more Southern Asian to me, like Filipina or Thai. Brenda Song maybe?
Izana...well, tbh, I'm not familiar enough with actors who are Japanese or of Japanese decent. Someone Korean could do in a pinch.
Tybalt...I like Aidan Turner as a face and his acting could fit for Tybalt as well. I'd be curious if anyone had other ideas.
All my other pups have actors already.

Also, Sabine could always imdb flu into a demon from The Good Place!

And I do like the idea of her and her family being Indian-American. They just seem visually to be more Asian to me. I could be very wrong though.
ETA: I didn't even realize Tiya was on The Good Place! I definitely need to watch it now!

For Rose, maybe that Cheryl Blossom girl from Riverdale.

I was playing with the idea that this basically makes him immune to the IMDB effects of the flu, and that he spends a week rundown, sick and confused about what's going on with all the other patrons. I'm not sure, though.
Any suggestions?

Moist is always fun to hit with IMDB flu since Jude Law has been in so much stuff.
Charles is tough, because James McAvoy has been in a lot but with his telepathy, I think it would mess him up a lot.
In terms of the others, I don't have any major ideas. To the original idea of fancasting, the ones of mine where I chose PBs are Will S., Sameth, Quentin and Ivan. Sorry, yesterday was really long for me and I think even now I'm not fully awake yet.

And god, there are so many other characters that I can turn Cassidy into but it's hard to get access to Joe Gilgun's work in the States. I really want to see This is England but I can't. Or Emmerdale. However, he was also in Pride (with Andrew Scott!), or perhaps his character in Misfits... He played a vicious, deranged criminal in Lockout but I think that would be a little too dangerous for everyone, what with him being a vampire.

(Also, anyone who hasn't seen Pride - see Pride. *hearteyes*)

As for Cassidy, I had been following the 'will a Preacher movie or TV series ever get made' saga for several years. And the only person I could think of to play him was Denis Leary, mostly because of the Glenn Fabry cover. I mean come on. That is totally Denis Leary. I think he would've done well as Cassidy in an alternate universe, but at this point I wouldn't trade in Joe Gilgun for anyone, the dude is basically him in real life without the vampirism. (Garth Ennis, the creator of Preacher, basically said, oh, so they went out and found the real Cassidy.)

Hera is voiced by Vanessa Marshall, who has done a lot of VA work in things I've also never seen. She's voiced a lot of Marvel and DC characters, but also nothing that particularly inspires me. Especially as Hera wouldn't look similar to any of those characters. And since Hera's a Twi'lek, any portrayal of her in live-action would have to involve a lot of make up/prosthetic and/or CGI (they've generally done make up for Twi'leks in the past, but I'd be kind of curious to see what the CGI version would look like). Appearance wouldn't make much difference, so Vanessa Marshall is still good? The only other actress I've thought of is Hettienne Park, who I just think could pull off Hera's calm and determination, as well as her good humor and kindness.

It actually took me a bit when I played to realize he was Freddie. He is good in that one.
[This is the other player, in case you were unsure!]
But yeah, word.
