Monday DE: Fine, just take my money

I’m subbing for Bethan so she can sleep in today. So let’s do this nerds.

What sort of nerdy swag do you prefer and wish you had for your canons?

ETA: Also this weekend I put up a test drive meme if you are interested. Open until you're done with the threads.
cameoflage: Picture of a Borg cube being unusually polite (and bilingual) about the assimilation thing, as Canadians tend to be. (Canadian Borg)

I like prop replicas, although a lot of the time they're out of my price range. I'm a fan of plushies as well; I have two Don't Starve critters in plush form, the basic spider and the Crabbit from Shipwrecked. I enjoy posters but the only one I've got from a canon I actually play is the Sunless Sea map, which was Kickstarter swag. Fandom socks are also very nice to have but I have high standards for them (I will not have printed-on sock designs in my house) and so the only ones I own are Discworld and Doctor Who.

I also like Lego; I bought myself a Lego Bastion as a late birthday present and it occupies a place of pride on my desk. I can even switch it from recon to sentry configuration with reasonable fidelity to the game model! However Overwatch is the only canon I play that has Lego. I do also have the one and only Doctor Who model though, and I also keep the TARDIS on my desk.

I normally don't like Funko Pops but I have three of the four Don't Starve ones (Wilson, Webber, and Wendy), partly because they're higher quality than most and partly because they came with in-game item codes. They're fun to set up little scenes with on my desk too.

I was going to say I don't have any Fallen London merch besides the map, but then I remembered I have four distinct FL T-shirts. I got the Individual of Mysterious and Indistinct Gender and F.F. Gebrandt's Tincture of Vigour shirts as a promotional thing, I have one with Correspondence symbols on it that was a Christmas present, and I bought myself the one with the Dawn Machine's silhouette in gold on red because it looks awesome. I've got two Overwatch shirts as well, a fanmade one with Bastion on it and an official one with Headless Horseman Reaper in the Halloween Terror art. Despite that, fandom T-shirts usually aren't a priority for me, I just pick out occasional specific ones that look cool and have some personal relevance.

From time to time I've worn the jacket I made for my Overgrown Bastion humanization cosplay with casual clothes, but it gets caught on things easily thanks to the plastic foliage sticking out of it and is really only suitable for mild weather since I can't wear anything over it. I do sometimes wear Wilson's vest with other clothes but it's not really recognisable as such out of context, and most of my other cosplay clothes are too uncomfortable or too easily dirtied to use as casual wear. (Also none of this is official swag.)

I mostly like wearables or usable things rather than collectibles, although I do have a huge collection of SW POP vinyls (All the Rebellion ladies basically). I really love clothes/jewelry/shoes, honestly; it makes you stand out a bit and also looks cool, invariably; my geek clothing always gets compliments from people. Usually my Star Wars outfits.

I would like a POP Vinyl of my specific Dragon Age Inquisitor but that's not possible. Actually one for each of my Milliways characters would be awesome, I have Clone Wars Anakin and R2 and Smallville!Lois but I'd love another Lois that looks more like teen!Lois, DA, and my Alerans...

I love LEGO sets!

BAGS. I LOVE BAGS GIVE ME BAGS.

I want an R2-D2 beanie. And a BB-8 one.

Like wearables/usables I loooove cosplay and props, actually. So much. ... I need a better Lightsaber of Destiny than the cheap one I have.

also i would take literally any alera swag because it doesn't exist and i'm extremely sad

cameoflage: Ozymandias from Watchmen, as a chibi, singing "Never Gonna Give You Up". Bubastis is there too. (Ozymandias rickroll)

I wish Klei would license Don't Starve to someone who makes bags. There are a lot of creative backpack skin designs in the actual game and I want real ones.

I like action figures, but Funko Pops will do, too, if I love the character enough. Like I need to start a petition or something to make icons from Broadway musicals Funko Pops. Because I would need a little plastic Master of Ceremonies.

I actually have Pops of all my pups: Cassidy (along with Tulip and Jesse); Pam (along with Eric); and Floki. I also have the Neca action figures of Jesse and Cassidy, though I'm so annoyed they didn't bother with Tulip. I do wish there were Vikings and True Blood action figures.

Don't get me started with t-shirts. I am a t-shirt hoarder. I have several Preacher t-shirts, two of Cassidy and the rest of subtle references that only fans would recognize, which I prefer for any fandom. They also include replicas of shirts Cassidy has worn on the show (the most subtle of references!), and they double as cosplay items.
aberration: Hera from Star Wars Rebels high-fiving Chopper (high five!)

I've sadly been accumulating a lot of new Star Wars gear, which has included a Hera Funko Pop (and [personal profile] varadia has brought me Kanan and Thrawn in a box somewhere); Hera and Kanan Black series figures (they sit together on the edge of my TV stand and [personal profile] varadia also gave me the Chopper figure so he looooooms behind them); very little Fantasy Flight figures of Hera, Kanan, Chopper, and Ezra; a Lego Ghost and Phantom, with Lego Kanan, Hera, Chopper, and Thrawn; and t-shirts with these designs. And also I bought a notebook with this Hera fanart on it, and it's so pretty that I have never used the notebook because ugh so pretty -__- Also I somehow didn't realize that the lothcats are the other Ghost crew until after I ordered it. But they're adorable! I kind of wish we could actually make that happen.

I think also SW-related we have (in boxes somewhere) Pop figures of Rose and Paige Tico, Finn, Rey, and Poe, and Leia and Holdo. I also keep a BB-8 figure on my desk, and a small Millennium Falcon pin on my corkboard at work. We've also been trying to find some decent lightsabers (maybe not like, the $200 ones...) but there don't seem to be the ones from my childhood that fold entirely in and out and lit up and made all the cool sounds and where are these??? Why can't I find them?????

... we have also admittedly been making plans to visit Star Wars Westworld Galaxy's Edge. Apparently they sell little replica kalikoris and I'm... gonna buy that.....
chanter1944: a starscape, including a spiral galaxy (on a quest for a jewel)

I currently have in my possession (and on my fingernails, though this coat is chipping and I'm going to need to take it off soon, boo) nail polish inspired by Duusu, Miraculous Ladybug's peafowl kwami. It's royal blue with dark pink/red eyespot glitter. :D I love it lots!

Oh, I do have a small Gryffindor house wax seal on my laptop case, and another on the lid of a box holding perfume. That one's a little loose; I think the stickum's failing. And there is a not official but still adorable tribble stuffed animal amid the half dozen plushies in this flat. It is delightfully fluffy. :)

If I only dared, I'd have cosplay gear rather than more usual swag. I've been told that, if I dressed in Starfleet science blues, I'd look very like Jadzia Dax. My proper color would be operations red, though, if I weren't actively trying to play a Trill. Comms officer for life, my dears. :)

As for other fandoms, I admit to a daydream or two of dressing as a dark-haired Mayura someday, or even better, as the mental image I have of Paon Bleu, that is, my not-canon-yet, so very likely to be jossed concept of a suited-up Émilie...

My more obscure canons - Alien Worlds, many oldtime radio series of quite a few stripes - haven't really got extant swag. Darn. And I'd feel... the uncomfortable sort of weird wearing anything from B5. Like I hadn't earned it. ... Er, *almost* anything, where one or two items cross into frak no territory of another sort; you can bet I wouldn't touch a replica Corps pin or the accompanying black gloves if you paid me!

And I don't really go here, but I've been tempted by a stitch-on patch with House Martell's words on it. I have a bias toward that house, and Dorne. Yes I do.
