Summary and Tony's Wake

Ahahaha! Now with the right post in the right comm!

First things first, the 24_ways summary for the week of August 14th to the 20th can be found here.

Secondly, there is a note in the bar about Tony's wake which is being held tonight in Room 513. The funeral will be outside of Milliways, in LA, at some point in the future yet to be decided.

Since the wake will only be one night, we will be abusing millitime and slowtiming as necessary.

The wake post will is setup like a wedding post with a place for arrivals to tag, a place to tag and react to the blessing and a place (in the room across the hall) for refreshments and drunken toasts in Tony's memory.

Anyone who still needs to find out about Tony's death can tag the aforementioned post and read the notes therein. If they want they can also have a (slow-timed) convo with Ryan to ask him what happened, how's Michelle (he actually has answers to that question now!) and the like.

Armageddeon Daily Post

Today's bit is more intrusive than the others.

Bar Effects: From about 7pm EST to about 11pmEST, there will be the disruption in all bar service. Water pipes will burst and cause minor flooding of rooms muns who decide they want to be flooded, but the kitchen is not so lucky -- it will flood. When the kitchen floods, the waitrats will swarm out into the bar, thus cutting off Bar's kitchen supplyline. Bar has, according to Karen, also becoming quite distressed by these goings-on, and begins to serve only beer and hard liquor. This means the bartending post tonight with Indy will be limited in fare: the bottles in the fridges and the soft drink supplies that the spritzer hoses tap into can still be used by him. What has been declared as 'not available' during this time frame are as follows: Exotic liquors, beers and wines that are stored in the kitchens or wine cellar-type place, drinks that are normally prepared in the kitchen, to whit: fresh brewed coffee, hot tea and hot chocolate.

However, the kitchen will be closed from 7pm to about 11pmEST, which will disrupt food service.

WorldWalkers: Guys, get with me as soon as you can. We have three WorldWalkers having met, but Rachel and Ronnie never tagged the in bar threads. We may have to handwave that, since our puppets are supposed to be out of the bar at present.

Researchers: Maru will put up a research post this afternoon when she gets him. Your agenda for today: find anecdotal evidence of something translatable as the 'Armageddon Key' (or Armageddeon, if you're the Doctor, lol). The existence of it is only theoretical, but it's believed that thorough study of the series of wards surrounding the Clock might yield the clues on how to construct one. Threadhop. Seriously. Also, some people signed up for the research team are NOT tagging these threads. It's important that you do that. Having it be only Sooty, Fred, the Doctor, and Ray will make for slow research.

Sacrifice Team: Sally Stitch and Molly Prewett. The AM post is up. They can go up at any time and thread together, doing as you guys worked out in the chat. :)

Well, a year and a day.

Hmm.

I came in, completely new to RP, an utter newbie, and found some very cool friends, some threads I will never forget, and learned a lot. To everyone I have threaded with, thank you, and to the mods, thank you for making this place. It's been a groovy adventure.

I can't wait to see what happens next.

You know the deal by now - muns whose canons come between 10TH KINGDOM and ELLA ENCHANTED¹, please go back and check the Purge Post, where you tagged in with your characters. Unless the character in question will later be up for adoption, it will have a reply from milliways_mods. If the reply says 'Done' then you are in the clear, and everything is fine and dandy. A number of you, however, will find replies with the subject line 'QUERY' - please respond to those comments as appropriate, and ASAP.

There do appear to be several cases of muns/characters disappearing off the face of the planet, and we are on a timeframe, so be aware that if after reposting this for a couple of days, QUERY comments go unanswered, I may reserve the right to use my own discretion in retiring/deleting/keeping a character. So! Is important you all let me know.

SECONDLY, if you were bad, bad people, and never commented during the whooooole summer with instructions for your character, the likelihood is high that they have been deleted from the community. So check if they're still a member, check if they're still on the cast list, and if they're not, and you want them to be, ping me / email me, and we will Talk.

As you've noticed, we are moving slowly but steadily towards the end of the purge - which means the opening of apps in the Not Too Distant Future, and also the institution of the overall character-per-mun limit. However, in order to keep track of how many characters each mun has, we first must conduct...

THE MILLIWAYS CENSUS

What we need you all to do is to send, for each of your active characters, an email to the milliways.apps[at]gmail.com address, with the following information:

Name: [Your usual online moniker - what people in the game call you by.]
Character: [The name of the character.]
Fandom: [The fandom the character is from.]
Character LJ: [Link to the character's LJ.]
Contact: [Your AIM handle and/or email address.]

NOTE: G-mail is a høbag about separating individual messages from conversations, so do not include the subject line 'CENSUS', as instructed in the last post.

Trés simple, no? There are just a few things to remember.

• Send in one email for EACH active character you currently have ownership of. NO multi-character emails.
• Send in emails ONLY for characters that have been confirmed as active in the purge post. Please wait until a character has been confirmed as active before sending in an email for that character.
• Do NOT send in any emails for characters that were apped in the last open app week, ie, in April. These characters have already been numbered and tagged, as it were.
• If a character is one of those due to be retired or deleted in the very near future (eg, after Armageddon plot, or whatever), and was noted as such on the purge post, you need not send an email for that character.

This will be reposted every day until we're done, and the data we collect from this will help us decide on a final character limit. As always, if you have any questions, I am pingable as scuba soph on AIM, or emailable as copinggoggles[at]livejournal.com.

Strippers Ho!

So, ever since we got a timetable for Armageddon plot I've been pondering pushing back Strip Night, and I think I'm going to. For one thing, Lilly wants to talk to more of the volunteers and volunteered, try to talk more people into stripping or showing up, get some help for drinks (Wes?) and costumes (Clive-mun, we'd talked ages ago about Clive and costumes, would he still be interested?) and just generally give people more time to play around with the fun aspects of this.

Also, since the effects of Armageddon stuff are more severe than I'd realized they were going to be at this point, it really doesn't make much sense to have a charity event when the bar's falling apart.

Next weekend is Dragon Con, so I'm thinking the Strip Night will now happen the weekend after that? (September 8th, 9th, and 10th) Let me know if there are any conflicts, questions, or whatever below. Thanks!
