DIY Skate Ramp
Mar. 23rd, 2007 11:08 amYT's not so bothered anymore about being Bound in Milliways, but she really misses having a good place to skateboard. Since she's got high-tech wheels, she can do so on the grass out back, but not the way she likes. She's thinking of building a skateboard ramp, for general use by anyone who's interested. There are four problems with this, rules-wise:
1) It counts as a physical change to the Bar, which requires permission from the mods. That's why I'm posting about it here, of course.
2) Would the Bar give her materials that big? She's actually planning to use a metal, plastic and fiberglass prefab kit of sorts, rather than making it out of wood or something.
3) Also, the materials would probably cost more than she could afford, or at least wipe out most of what she has, unless the Bar (or Landlord, although YT personally does not believe that the Landlord exists) decided to provide the stuff gratis because the ramp could be used by all the Milliways customers.
4) A skate ramp would be kind of incongruous in the Scottish countryside setting Out Back, wouldn't it? Heh.
I do imagine that this would be used by people other than YT: there are plenty of young folks in the Bar who might like to try it out. In addition, YT could recruit other people to help her build it, which could make for a nice plot-type thing.
I'm probably going to get shot down, but I figured it would be worth asking about.
