Right, then. It occured to me that, because Luke's a summer baby, he's never seen snow before. And it follows that he had never been in a snowball fight. Clearly, this must be remedied.
Which brings me to: Is can be bar-wide SNOWBALL FIGHT tiem?
I'm quite willing to start a post with Luke for SNOWBALL FIGHT, though someone else will have to start the actual throwing of snowballs because Luke doesn't even know about snowball fights. But I figured that before any posts are started, I should first assess interest.
:D?

Tags Saga: Non-Character tags.

OK, you see that list down the right hand side of the
milliways_bar? "TAGS: PLOTS" and "TAGS: MISC"? Well, those are tags currently using up space that mean we can't add any more character tags. Now, I asked previously that everyone check and make sure each of their characters only has one tag, but now I need help backing up these plot and misc tags (and any other such not listed on the sidebar), so there's still somewhere we can go to to check these things out.
So this is a call for volunteers, that falls into two parts:
1. SUMMARIES.
Remember these? Weren't they great? Every time someone completed a plot, be it bar wide or just within a character group, they posted a summary in the back room with links to threads. Nowadays we tend to leave it to the plot tags and summaries have fallen down. Well, as we can't rely on tags so much, I would like to suggest that we get back into posting summaries as we finish plots as well. Hopefully the mods will give us a "plot summaries" tag in the back room.
And as for those plots that have been long completed but never summarised? What better time to start than now? To avoid a sudden surge in the back room, I'd like to see a series of "plots from the past" summaries posted in the back room, perhaps once a week, so not only are summaries posted somewhere central, but I have something new to read everyweek.
If you'd like to post a summary of a past plot you've been involved with (and the sidebar only contains some of the plots that need to be covered), please post a comment here with summaries in the subject line, telling me which plot you can do.
2. INTRODUCING THE MILLIWAYS_BAR DEL.ICIO.US ACCOUNT
Because sometimes plots don't run in a linear fashion that lends itself to summaries, and sometimes a big central links list is the way to go. Del.ici.ous can host any links, tagged as often as we like, and is perfect for collecting threads under tags by plots. Of course, I can't fill it up on my own, so I need a small army of people willing to tag up various links related to all sorts of IC and OOC activities.
If you'd like to harvest links for the del.ici.ous account, please comment here with del.ici.ous in the subject line, telling me the plots and areas you'd work on. It helps if it's something you've already been memorying, or a tag you created and use, or an area of the bar you like to keep an eye on. I want to get all bases covered.
And if you've done a plot summary in times past and have it bookmarked somewhere, then please point me to it so I can add it to the del.icio.us.
I'm sure the tags problem can be dealt with. It just requires a lot of input. Thanks to everyone who's been sorting through their character tags, to everyone who is updating their pup's memories, and everyone who's ever posted a summary. You're all great.

I'd made an entrance post a few days ago, with Riku, over yonder. I'd meant to keep up slowtimes right away, but I ended up with two botched up catscans and some pretty bad side affects, and I'm only starting to really recover today.
Anyway, I've picked up again with a few of you, but to
x_marks_the,
todlichestrafe,
killitwith_fire,
mogget_cat specifically - I'm around again, able to continue, and would like to if possible. I've tagged back, so if you want to, just let me know! :D

There's a place near where I live that's just shut down their custom costume shop and are letting people come by appointment to buy their surplus supplies and costumes.
I went there today with my sister. Basically? It's a giant fucking WAREHOUSE of costumes and assorted buttons and fabrics. But mostly costumes. I mean THOUSANDS of costumes. And they're going CHEAP.
So I'm gonna share the wealth.
If anyone here needs costume pieces, drop me a line and I'll go hunting when my sister takes her LARP friends there in a few days/next weekend, or whenever she does it. They have everything. I mean EVERYTHING. They have period military, circus costumes, bomber jackets a la Charles Lindbergh, fur suits, Teletubby costumes, men's suits, TONS of medieval-type gowns and tunics, Colonial stuff, gothy leather shit, really just ANYTHING. They have a selection of gloves, bolts of cloth in various colors and textures, SHELVES of buttons and zippers, sewing machine thread, trim with lace and sequins and whatnot, hats of all descriptions... anything you can imagine being in a costume workshop, they're probably selling. Also patterns. Boxes and boxes and BOXES of patterns.
Here's the one catch: a lot of the premade stuff is in need of repair and may be strangely sized. BUT... it's fabulous costumey stuff, AND IT'S CHEAP. Really cheap.
So here's the deal:
You E-Mail me a list of stuff you need, and how much you're willing to pay for it. Basic price range for just about everything in there SEEMS to be $40-$100, sometimes less for single shirts or collar ruffs or whatever. As I said before, I can't guarantee any SIZE, but I wear about a size 16/17, so if you tell me you wantstuff larger/smaller, I can use my own measurements to guess. I'll get larger if possible, as my sister tells me it's easier to take things in than do the opposite.
I'll take the list of stuff and go with my sister the next time she goes there. I'll mail you the clothing, and you can reimburse me once you get it. Depending on how many people take me up on this, I may have to charge for shipping, as I have nocash! and cannot afford to pay $3+ to ship stuff to 15 different people.
As for payment, my first choice would be for you to send me a check through the mail. If you prefer not to do that, Amazon gift cards work, too. I can't use PayPal, but if neither of those methods work for you, we'll work something else out. :)
My E-Mail is eigrefeht@gmail.com
Write if you have any questions and I'll tell you what I can. But write ASAP. They're opening the costume warehouse to general sale eventually, but before they do, this is a totally word-of-mouth offer to sell things off REALLY cheap to designers and students by appointment only before they price everything else to sell to the public.

Right, time for ye old pimp post, we haven't had one in ages and I just have to post this thread.
Mulder explains Christmas to Ironhide, somewhere the Grinch is grinning.
Also Sarah Jane and Byers, if you haven't been following the heartbreak in the Smith-Bond household go catch up, also Byers is adorable.
We've had a lot of good OOMs lately, so I'm just going to pick one: John Winchester's.
Now that I've started things off, everyone else pick up, I know end of term is hard so distract yourself, find threads to pimp and play in the snow for me down in the Southern Hemisphere.
