Okay -- to everyone threading with Lady Macbeth tonight? Thank you. I love you. Unfortunately, I became completely overthreaded and over-AIM windowed, and lost track of all of it. (Man, I feel so rusty saying that!) And to add icing to the matter, my computer is playing chicken with my power cable. Hopefully all this will be remedied by tomorrow. In the meantime, my profuse apologies. Slowtime is love?

Mistletoe Madness

For all of you crazy Christmas folk,

Hex has decided to program some mistletoe.

Now, if you all know her, you all should be shuddering to think about what she is going to do about this. She got the idea while speaking
with a certain doctor about this "Christmas" thing that the Users celebrate. She now understands that stupid Santa Game, and she thinks
it's funny.

Back to the madness.

It's mistletoe, impregnated with viral power, which affects everyone (at the muns' discretion, of course). It has been placed strategically around the bar: one sprig above the bar to the right, one above the middle of the Observation Window, another above the fireplace, and one more above the notice board. There is much more, that can be put up to meet needs of muns and pups.  Now, what is the deal with this mistletoe, you ask. It's programmed so that if you stand under it, you cannot move from the spot until someone kisses you.  (It is only your feet that are stuck to the floor; you can still move the rest of your body.) This will run till the day after Christmas.   Sounds fun, yes? So, have a very merry Christmas and all that jazz, and let the madness … thingy… start…  EP!!!!!

We've recently had three or four different people ask us about pups of multiple continuities and pups that are different creators' versions of the same character, so it seemed like a good idea to repeat how the Milliways policy stands on such things.

If your pup stems from a single source, even if that source has issued many, many continuities, then only one person is allowed to have that character in Bar. An example of this not currently present in the Bar would be Sergeant Preston of the Yukon. His radio show, his television show, and his comic book all represented different continuities (because if they didn't, the only way to account for every single event in all of them would be if the winter of the Yukon gold rush were roughly five years long). Someone who played Sergeant Preston as represented in the radio series would have the only Sergeant Preston allowable in the Bar. They would be free to implement information from the TV show or the comic book, or ignore it, as they chose. They would also be permitted to bring in Sergeant Preston as he was on TV, or as he was in the comic book. And they would be the only ones permitted to do so.

If your pup stems from multiple sources, such as ancient myths, then someone else is allowed to app a version of that character so long as they use a different source. A multi-source ancient myth character example would be Ares; we could have Straight-Up Homeric Ares, Attractive But Intensely Annoying Xena-Ares, and Great Googly Moogly You're A Real Jerk Aren't You DC Comics Ares in the bar all at the same time, played by different people.

Situations where a series is continued by a different author working from that author's notes/outlines due to the original author's untimely death, such as the Wheel of Time books, the Dune universe, or the Silmarillion of J. R. R. Tolkien are still considered single-source.

So -- what do you guys do when you have a character who needs a PB, and there's no source PB provided by canon? I have a character I want to enter today (Tom Sawyer) and no pictures for icons. :O. I'm really bad in this sort of situation, and have no clue where to even start.

So, um. Is there any usual sources or places that I might be able to look for a fifteen year old boy?

Because I'm made of fail lately...

...I haven't, as you probably noticed, really been threading. And it's about to get worse: tomorrow, I'll be heading off to the wilds of suburban Baltimore to spend the holiday with my brother and his wife and kids. I should be back Wednesday, but I don't even know if I'll be allowed to lurk; I certainly don't expect to be given time to post.

Divis Mal Michael Daemon Donighal is staying with the House of Wells; twintailmadb suggested a while back that laundry should be his primary chore.
Strong Bad and The Cheat are back in Free Country, getting ready for whatever else Decemberween will bring.
Obi-Wan is still somewhat nebulous.
Hiro Protagonist... isn't really speaking to me very loudly of late (sorry, miss_yt; I hope to remedy the problem soon). I think he's spending a quiet Christmas with Juanita and Da5id; if YT would want to visit, I can put up an OOM post sometime.

Oh, and Leesha: I can app the Creepy Doll y/n?
